Clearly he was caught, it's his dramatics on the way down that piss me off.

Well done Young. I'm always nervous when Wayne takes penalties! Get in!!

Can't believe he's given that, especially after last week.

Token United dive, then penalty at Old Trafford. As usual Young the culprit.

    Standard.

There was contact, but the fall was theatrical

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

    Ridiculous dive from Young!

Why not? It was an obvious penalty.

He actually kicked the defender with his two feet. Should have been a free out.

    Harsh yellow for Carrick.

I was asked by a few mates last season who I wanted United to sign and I instantly said Ashley Young. Now I am beginning to resent the fact he signed, just so blatant about diving its not on.

i hop he kopps the fcuk on and fast.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Sick after watching that to be honest. Young kicks Clark's foot and then dives. Not good enough just saying there was 'contact'. I'd love a few United fans to stand up and admit it too. You were probably gonna beat us regardless anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,838 ✭✭✭✭3hn2givr7mx1sc

He went down very easily for sure and stuck his own leg out, but there was contact this time. Always a penalty in this day and age.

Ridiculous theatrics from Young and he definitely played for it (stepping in with his right leg instead of going around the challenge) but it was a bad challenge and he caught him. Well taken peno from Rooney though. Should be handy enough from here but that's no guarantee!

last week we didn't get a peno for a clear hand ball also ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,672 ✭✭✭ScummyMan

No peno there imo, Young really doesn't help himself sometimes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

    lol at Carrick complaining

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭Vertigo100

Today is the trial of the signing section where the away fans normally are isn't it?

    Young should have hit that,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

8 minutes in and the ref has already proved he's a clown!

Honestly video technology is needed - So far these refs are either bribed or just utterly incompetent!

    What?

There wasn't even a challenge, nevermind a bad one. Clark clearly stops.

I don't see how everyone is so surprised. Players always always go down easily. Just because it's in the box, it means Ashley Young is a big smelly cheater. We'd all prefer if diving wasn't part of the game, but it is. There's no way to enforce it out by this point.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭DB21

Can we start a new match thread? Leave this one for the conspiracy guys.

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,719 ✭✭✭DB10

Never a penalty, only delusion would make you think it was.

It's irrelevant anyway because they would have beaten them . Another dodgey decision but I want Villa relegated and this was a United banker so I'm not concerned.

he was at that same crap for villa and the fans didnt like it at all. seems it's a touch more accepted at a top club though

Typical Ash Young, oh how it hurts to see him in Man Utd colours.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Bale runs him close in the cheating stakes to be fair.

Look at the way he sticks out his left leg looking for contact (which never comes, making him look ridiculous), but sure, the defender touches him, so he's entitled to dive apparently.

It must be a fecking delight playing as a winger with Scholes in your team. Pings every ball straight to your feet. 20 yards or 80.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,432 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

That dive has me hiding for cover..

    embarressing to say least..

Will take it though as have Rooney as Capt in FF:D

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,719 ✭✭✭DB10

Dont know why Young dives like that. He possibly could have scored if he stayed on his feet.

Are you trying to wind-up both sets of supporters?

Shame to see the game ruined already, not that it was much of a contest anyway. Would've been nice to see the league leaders have to break open a side. Young stood on Clark's foot as far as I can see, that's not contact.:(

Bad in the sense that he was never getting near the ball. Young throws the leg in but it happens all the time in the modern game unfortunately.
