    Hi

Renovation (rewire) carried out and elec put a 10amp mcb on oven + hob.

It is triping when both on together after about 3-5 mins.

Surely it should be a bigger mcb?

Hob & Oven about 6m from fuseboard.

Will get him back but just want to be sure...

    Thanks

Yea that should be a 32 amp MCB. Check the MCB board, turn off the 32 amp MCB if there is one, might have cooker written at it, and see does anything else, such as lights go off.

    Hi,

Will do - i think he did mix the lights & cooker as they are beside each other - only 3 on the row

    will give him a shout

all other work great so must of been an error -

    thanks again

Yes its a very easy mix up for any sparks, it certainly would not be any indication of incompetence or anything like that. Simple mistake that can happen any good electrician.

    if he's finished and gone

it's careless and should have been spotted

    by giving board once-over

    but it can happen

Yes in that case it would be a bit careless alright. Every MCB should be tested according to the schedule.

I fixed one or two the last few years that had that cooker lights swapped problem.

you have to visually inspect distribution boards

    so it's a careless mistake

but ive done a lot worse

I agree it was sloppy alright. Lucky it didn't cause any harm, other than ruining my dinner!! :D

All fixed now, came out next day & sorted in a few mins.

    Thanks again
