Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

automatic gearbox - timing belt

    I'm changing the timing belt on my Audi A6. This is the first automatic I've ever worked on, and I was wondering - if you have to turn the engine over by hand, what position should the gear selector be in? It seems like it will turn in park, but I don't know if that's bad for the gearbox or not. On the other hand, to get it in neutral I have to turn the car on (first key position). I'd rather not do this, in fact I prefer to have the battery disconnected when I'm working on the car.

    The box has to be in neutral, just put it in neutral before you start work.
