Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Best was chemistry and the worst was business. I can blame the business one on my shambles of a teacher though because I have a degree in each now.

My worst subject (excluding practical subjects like metalwork, woodwork etc. which I only did in 1st year and completely failed at) was maths but it was one of my favourites so I still ended up doing a maths degree. My maths ability is still nowhere near as good as I'd like but I'm doing a Masters in September so I can't be that hopeless.

My best was English but a crap Junior Cert teacher killed my enthusiasm for it. Was also good at Irish (though I've forgotten it all now) and Geography.

Did crap in Geography (iirc I got a D3 at HL) and LCVP (didn't do a great work experience write-up), they were boring. I tried to do physics and was abysmal at it. Good thing PhysChem wasnt put on or I would've been screwed.

I liked OL Maths and was okay at it. I got more points doing a plc course than the annoying leaving cert so it didn't really matter in the end.

I kinda put it down to making my eyes bad from being on a computer a lot and didn't get glasses until the year after school ended. Of course I wouldn't sit closer to the front! At least the Maths teacher made an effort to write bigger for me.

Going by my LC results my two best were Maths and History (B1 in both at honours level)

Worst was Economics by a long way (D3 :(), teacher was fooking useless, every Friday he was basically hungover and the other days he was clueless. Did Economics in 3rd Level a year later and have to say the guy who lectured us was fantastic!

Same as that, history was the only subject I was interested in. Everyone in the class did honours for the LC because I dont know how he used to be able to do it but the teacher was able to predict what would come up every year. Looking back I reckon he must have known someone in the department.

I was bootless when it came to maths, actually had to take paracetamol a few times during class. Took my subjects and did well in honors level in the leaving cert except for foundation maths which I almost failed. It was just working out percentages and I think there was a number line to be filled in :p Trying to make me do this subject was like forcing a cat to take a bath. Best was Art and English.

A well-rounded curriculum is important for younger teenagers, but after about 16 its ridiculous to be forcing so many hours of a subject onto someone that clearly doesn't suit them. There should be way more choice at this age me thinks.

    Best: German, English, Irish

I always wished they still taught Latin in schools, such an interesting language.

    Best: Biology
    Worst: Irish

There seems to be a lot of 'maths' for the worst. To be honest, it's one of the few subjects (along with part of the sciences) where you actually have to use your brain and can't learn off the answers. So it's no surprise to me why so many people in so many countries find it hard. Intellectual laziness for a lot of it, boring for a few others.

Worst by a country mile was Irish. Bizarrely, I was good at French so it wasn't a language thing.
