Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why does a micron thin layer of Makeup transform some girls and others not much?

This has me fascinated. So we have a new Asian workmate who no-one ever paid much attention too in work. Quite hard cheek bones, very Unusual, bit off putting. In work she doesnt wear much make-up. I saw her out at the weekend and I didnt recognise her when she said hi, she actually looked like a model, I was Dumbstruck. Then my other Irish colleague in work will LASH on the make-up and she doesnt really look much different. She puts the makeup on just as well as the Asian girl. And she looks better than the asian girl at work but at night time done up no comparison

How does a micron of color on your facial features make such dramatic changes, I just dont get it. I know it makes ur lips darker etc but why is everyone in work now falling over this asian girl including me all because of a 1/4 of a gram of paint lol :o She didnt have plastic surgery... botox.... still the same skeletal facial features.... WEIRD
    Like the difference was ridiculous,

It's all about the contouring! Basically using bronzer, blush and highlighter to shadow your face, creating angles where there are none usually. Can do it on your cheeks, chin, nose, and many Asian girls shade their eyes for a wider look.

Also, foundation isn't used as a cover up, it's really more to even your complexion, so she have looked "brighter".

A lot of girls also shade in their eyebrows which can really change a face. I would never bother for college but always would on a night out.

Sounds like she's really good with make up! And sure if you're looking at someone everyday without make up, they'll look really different with it on because you're not used to it, in contrast with your other colleague who always wears make up.

I agree that it's more you had got used to the girl looking a certain way so when you saw her with makeup, dressed up and on a night out it was a huge difference!

The right products can really make a big difference, I'm only getting used to trying contouring now I'm in a make up course but I still don't bother on myself! I'm very pale so find it just makes me look orange which I hate!

I defo recommend Nars Sex Appeal, it's a peachy blusher that is great for contouring pale skin. http://www.temptalia.com/nars-sex-appeal-blush-review-photos-swatches

I know what you mean, i know 2 people that with just a small bit of foundation, mascara and a touch of lipgloss look phenomenal. I dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing though. I think id like to look like an enhanced version of my natural self :D rather than completely transformed.
