Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if plug in hybrid electric vehicles are available in this country yet?
I know Toyota plan to sell the Prius PHEV sometime this year but wondered if anyone had beaten them to it so to speak.!

Hmm, I don't know when/if they will be for sale to be honest, But I have had access to a plug in Prius on and off over the last few months (as part of a college project). The electric only range is fairly dismal I will admit, from full charge it will only do 15miles or so on EV only, and once you hit the motorway this totally drops off, and the engine has to kick in above 55/60mph anyways as the electric motor doesn't have enough power to push it along at this speed.

The plug in part does do wonders for the MPG in town, you will get an easy 80mpg+ if you have it charged up fully. The boot is abit smaller again over a normal Prius, to fit the extra batteries, and it can be charged up the same way as a Leaf, with the same plug.

I suspected as much. Thanks for the info nonetheless.
