Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bear in mind that now is probably a risky time to buy a Mac - especially if you're looking for a laptop. New Ivy-Bridge models are almost certainly coming out in the next month or so.

Yes, definitely bad time to buy, check out the Mac buyers guide here:

Are Ivy-bridge models going to replace the current range or will that make the current range drop in price significantly?

'Significantly' too strong a word in short term but, in keeping with Moore's law, prices for current range will go down.

They usually run stock down before release, so the only place there is a slight drop is machines on the refurb store.

I definitively wait but Ivy Bridge is only 7% over Sandy Bridge if you need one now.

While the update from Sandy-Bridge to Ivy-Bridge is fairly incremental, the rumour mill is going pretty full on about a bunch of other changes (e.g. removing the SuperDrive, going to a "slimmer" form-factor, etc.)

Also - looking this article, there are suggestions that performance upgrade might be a little better than "7%".

Of course what will actually happen remains to be seen.
