Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New taxes, if we are being serious here: a departure tax and road pricing.

A departure tax is for hostile, third world dictatorships like Sudan so with the current regime I suppose it would suit us as well

road pricing is too big brother

    Visiting the barbers / hairdressers:-

CSO states the population is:- 4,481,430.

Lets say a million of these do not bother cutting their hair, that leaves 3,481,430.

Lets say they each get their hair cut twelve times a year with a tax of €2.00 per visit would gain €83,554,320

Hair cut twelve times a year??? You must be one of those dole scroungers that I've read so much about on here; free house, free prams, money for Communion dresses and twelve hair cuts a year while masturbating all around you. I despair :-[

Feck all because people will stop drinking it as much, start producing their own illegally and buying on the black market.

How about a car non-usage tax, show up at the NCT with less than 2000 miles from the previous NCT added on and pay a 500e tax to cover up for lost petrol tax revenue.

Nationalise the gene pool; royalty fees to the exchequer every time you reproduce.

Tax enjoyment. This can be monitored with an implanted chip to register every time neurons fire up the brain's sweet spots. If you go over x minutes of enjoyment per day you enter a higher bracket. Tax the hell out of it.
