has anyone used this need to re do all the red deel doors in clear gloss varnish finish and can't face varnishing them all with a brush

What kind of spray varnish? Using a proper sprayer it shouldn't be a problem if you do the prep. If you are thinking aerosols, forget it, you will make a horrendous uneven mess on the scale of a door.

Thanks Happyman,
it was actually the aerosols I was thinking of using but taking the door down to do, but my husband has a spray gun as well and compressor he's well used to spraying metals but not wood

If he can spray metals he should have no probs with wood. Read the back of the varnish you want to use, they will have thinning instructions there. It will be a brilliant finish if he knows what he is doing.
