problem with router

    hi i have a netgear dgn1000 and use it with magnet broadband, i have a ps3 wired and then a laptop and iphone wireless

    when i turn on the ps3 the lan port it's connected to turns red, if i connect the laptop by ethernet it lights up green
    it works fine mostly but sometimes i have trouble with netflix or streaming form the laptop

    any ideas?

    Different colours indicate the speed at which the two are talking.

    There is 10Mbps
    There is 100Mbps
    There is 1000Mbps (1Gbps)

    The red is probably 10Mbps while your laptop can connect at 100Mbps. This does not make much difference if you internet is only 5Mbps.

    The hardware inside the PS3 may be only capable of a certain speed so replacing the cable may not help.
