Building my first HTPC build which I also want to use for gaming at 720p (on a 42inch plasma). Heres the current build using a combo of new and second hand parts:

    CPU: i5-750
MOBO: Asus P7P55-M Intel LGA1156 Platform
    RAM: Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz 4GB (1x 4Gb)
COOLER: Scythe Shuriken Rev.B Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler
    GPU: Radeon 6770
    SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 60GB
    HDD: WD GreenPower 3.5" 1TB
OPTICAL: Sony 24x Internal DVD Rewriter
    CASE/PSU: Antec Remote Fusion w/ 430W 80% Bronze PSU
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

    Total: €450
    • Am i missing anything obvious?
    • Should I be looking into after market fans for the case (noise isnt a major concern during gaming but I would like it to be quiet during media)?
    • Any recommendations for a media remote and keyboard?
    • I am assuming the 6770 should be more then ample for gaming at high FPS at that resolution?
    Any thoughs much appreciated!

A fanless PSU and quiet case fans would help your noise levels drop.

Maybe grab a Crucial M4 instead of a OCZ SSD.

Case is personal preference but the Antec doesn't do anything for me.

Bluray drive for ripping your discs?

    TV tuner?

have you already bought the CPU/mobo? its not a great idea to invest in 775 at this point.
