Want to build for my 12yo. Medium to heavy gaming. Budget 500-600.

Your 32" TV is probably 1366x768 resolution which is just over a million pixels, this benchmark below is at 1280x1024, which is 1.3 million. So the results will be slightly better for you.







As you can see you're getting 40+ fps in BF3, so COD, Gears of War etc. will be a cakewalk.

Nice build, but you would want to check the TV; might very well be 1080p. That's not to say that you'd want to try and aim for playing those games at 1080p or anything, but there is a bit of room left in the budget to play with, so might as well check it, etc.

Great, did you check (as serephucus said) what the resolution of the monitor was? Cod will probably be ok if it's 1080p but new games and graphically intensive ones (bf3, Crysis 2) might be only ok on medium settings.

Tv is not 1080p, so were good to go there.

Few things i'm worried about, while I'm comfortable building this PC I've never had to fit a processor to a motherboard, is there any tips on this, do I need special equipment, also on the above build will I need fans, cables etc.
Any other things I should be aware of.

Have a watch through this when you have time. (or jump to the 7 minute mark for CPU installation). No special tools required, only a philips screwdriver and a bit of patience!

I'd throw one or two of these fans into the front of the case as well just to get the air flowing in the right direction.
