The biggest tournament in Portugal has just been announced.
This year, Lockdown takes place September 15th and 16th in the VIP Executive Hotel, in Santa Iria da Azóia, just outside Lisbon.

To find all the details head to our official website at http://lockdown.ptfighters.com/
The website is in English and Portuguese in all the pages.

    The official games are:
Super Street Fighter 4 AE 2012
    Street Fighter X Tekken
    King of Fighters XIII
    Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

More games will be added to the lineup, the games are still being decided.

The hotel is 4 stars, it's amazing and will also have special prices to stay there, allowing for late-night GGs, and even a small vacation in Lisbon if you want to.

I am a member of the organizers so if you have any doubt don't hesitate to ask me.

    More details coming soon.
Hope you visit us in Portugal.

    Thanks for the info man.

    Any word on prizes etc?

    What was last year's turnout.

Also How did you find out about our site?

No word on the prizes yet. I will update the website when we have it.
Turnout last year was around 70 but we didn't promote it at all. That was just local people and on short notice. This year should be much bigger and we are expecting international players.
I posted the info on all of Europe's major websites/forums.

I was having a look into this.

    a) The hotel looks really nice.

    b) The temp should be low to mid twenties and sunny.

I'm interested. Anyone else? I imagine it would tricky with people returning to college.

    I'm seriously considering it too.

Yeah, should be good. The weather alone would be worth it.

Price of the hotel room seems to be 80 odd quid for 2 nights, sleeping 2 people.

Though the site did confuse my poor brain a bit so that could be arseways.

    Haven't investigated cheap flights.

Looks like it would be the weekend before the start of college.

The hotel is amazing, trust me. I stayed there last year (the tournaments last year weren't at the hotel like this year) and it's really great. 4 star bedrooms, amazing service available, the tournament area is right next to the pool. It's really great.

    b) The temp should be low to mid twenties and sunny.

Actually it should be around high thirties if the last few years are anything to go by.

Though the site did confuse my poor brain a bit so that could be arseways.

What site confused you? The hotel one, or our own Lockdown site? Please let me know what confused you so we can make it better for everyone. Also, don't check anything on the hotel website besides location and stuff like that since we have special prices and all contacts should be done using the e-mail listed in the Lockdown site.

Regarding the date, it came down to having to deal with people already going back to school, or people still in vacations, so we chose that date.

    Cool, that sounds much better.

    FYI

Flights to Lisbon with Aer Lingus €140

Ryanair flies to airports that are miles away.

Nothing else seems to be available.

I don't know about the turnout for MK, but we have a few very good players here and we are trying to get international players to come.

We already have a thread at testyourmight.
