Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Supermoto" style bike on a learner permit

Looking to get back into bikes, Will have an A provisional licence. What are my options for a supermoto style bike, have been looking at drz 400's but i'm not sure if they need to be restricted or not.

Anybody know of any learner legal friendly bikes, either under the 33bhp or that can be restricted.

Looking at quotes on liberty insurance website and seems to be around 950 which isn't too bad.

My other option would be to convert an off road 4T bike to a road legal one, from googling it seems that all you need is front and rear lights, brake lights, number plate lights and some reflectors, but would probably be even harder to insure and restrict if needed.

Something like this would be perfect but a bit out of my price range.

Any bike can be restricted. Don't buy an off road bike, it'll be far more trouble than its worth.

DRZ is your best option in my opinion. Fairly sure it'll need restriction.

An XT125X would be learner legal, they look nice as well.
XR125 would also be learner legal but maybe not as cool looking

Thanks for the reply, A DRZ seems like the best option out there. Is restriction that expensive?

Depending on the garage, restriction can cost about €250.
