Hi, I have a Spanish gun license, shotgun and .22 rifle, does anyone know if I can legally hold a shotgun at home in Ireland with it?

    Nossir.

The Republic of Ireland is an independent state with its own firearms laws, just as Spain is.

Leave your guns in Spain, or start the road to firearms ownership in the Republic before even trying to bring them into the country. You already, from your signature block, have some kind of residence in Ireland, so please read the sticky on obtaining your two separate licenses before you go any further. Remember that, as Ezridax points out on another thread, you must be a member of an authorised gun club or have your own land or permissions on other folk's land to justify the ownership of firearms in the Republic and offer good reason to AGS in your district. Remember also that you must have the necessary secure gun accommodation in place before making the applications.

    And BTW, Welcome!
