Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This country is a hole for everything speed related. If its not our slow expensive broadband, it's our non exsistant 4G and no concern in anyone delivering it.

Seriously what's the deal? Is it because there's a monopoly on everything here or is it just the government or whoever controls 4G just has no clue or interest in bringing it in?

It's bacuse we're a small sparsly populated country for 4 million! Prety obvious when you think about it! Also LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, the whole idea is that the devices can manage future increases in speed and differnt radio bands used!

We're doing pretty well for broadband speeds in Dublin due to cable i.e UPC etc.

Look at New Zealand. Same population, actually a bit less, yet they're going to have it by the end of the year.

LTE is pointless. What's your mobile data cap? for most people is 1-2Gb, LTE lets you spank that in under 5mins. The only thing you need LTE speeds for is dl'ing or streaming large media files, something current data plans don't support. HSDPA+ is plenty good enough until that is resolved.

As far as I know ATT are the only USA carrier that operate on GSM based networks

Course. It's your network that restricts it not the phone.

That has nothing to do with iPhone speeds :D

Also its not just Dublin that has UPC.

I remember the stores all went offline after midnight. I assumed the UK was updated with the new iPhone too. Maybe I'm wrong.

fail to see why it's pointless? we shouldn't be held hostage to carriers stupid data limits.

majority of carriers charge extra for tethering or don't allow it, therefore using your logic tethering is pointless because i'd rack a huge bill if i use tethering when it's not included.

Just got this over on the Meteor forums about the iPhone 5 pricing ahead of tomorrow. Confirmed the prices posted here earlier from the online chat.

Not exactly! My guy told me Id get free Meteor to Meteor for €45 a month, which isnt included here. Also there is only 16gb pricing given here. I read on the meteor boards.ie forum that some people have had teathering disabled on the 4s. I might be moving to 3!

    Also:

32GB will be €199 with the same p/m pricing
    64GB will be €299

No word on PAYG yet it seems.

Tethering is not permitted on 3 Network either since 01/01/2012.

Tethering works fine for me with my 4s on meteor, I'm eyeing up a move to three too so you should be aware that they officially do not allow tethering-now you can still tether but since it's not official they can stop/charge for it when they want to without being in breach of contract

Anyone have any horror stories re eMobile or would I be safe enough to move from 3?

Not permited!? Does this mean that it is not physically possible on the iphones they sell or just frowned upon?

Seems like they still haven't nailed it down. But by going with the image they posted it looks like the 45p/m plan will lose free C&T's and the prices will go up to €99, €199 & €299. Think i'll be going back to Sim Free.
