Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

took up sailing recently, and its amazing how quickly you can feel isolated and vulnerable so fast on the sea, even though you can see the shore only mile or 2 away

I could watch swallows fly all day (and have).

Also, text messages. I can type words onto my phone and someone can be reading those words in Australia 2 seconds later??????

The exponential increase of computer power especially in the last 20 years. In 1985 Hitachi put a 64k bit processor on the market, it even got on tomorrows world, everyone thought the Japanese were usurping the Americans at chip design.

But then the kilobytes quickly went megabytes to the now terabytes in the space of 20 years and to spite Moores law which is meant to limit the speed of computer power, they are getting around that and the increase in computer power is not slowing.

And all because the insatiable human lust for quicker porno.

Oh, dreaming fascinates me too.... You fall asleep, and in your dream you live an entire day/week/month, have an amazing adventure with detailed conversations and revelations, travel long distances, build up relationships just to be betrayed... Then you wake up just to find that you were only asleep for like 10 minutes!

Cars and the efficiency of the energy conversion. In my car for 40 litres of fuel, in area that is roughly the size of your average cylinder in a washing machine, that fuel somehow manages to propel a 2 to 4 ton vehicle for 500 to 600 miles at average speeds from 40 to 60 miles per hour.

Petrol and diesel are amazing substances they have more explosive power then TNT, they are the 20th and 21th century, they transports us, heats us, fly's us, lights us even feeds us, its as if everyone of us was born with a private team of horses on the gallop. They enhance our lives and without them life would be dearth and pure grind.

Thank god for them and they are worth going to war over.

Boring --- RTE and the Late Late Show

Amazing -- That the general citizenry still puts up with being mugged to pay for Tubridy and the salaries of all those wankers at RTE

Micro SD cards are a pinnacle of human achievement. I could fit 100,000 copies of the bible on this thing the size of my fingernail.

Sky Atlantic has a new series Smash a lot of adults have the guilty secret of loving Glee (not one of them) so some bright spark thought why not make a glee with tits in it.

So Smash its amazing it oozes with expense and money and it references all the musicals we all know and have seen. I was watching ep 2 this morning and I didn't want it to end.

Wireless downloading, I can't get physical dvd/vhs out of my head, therefore it amazes me that I can wirelessly download a movie to my laptop, then wirelessly transfer to my media player, then watch it on the tele.
