Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have to take a drink to bed every night with me, usually a pint of water, even if I don't drink it before I fall asleep it is often drained by morning even if I don't remember doing it, I am the only one of my friends that does this. Can't stand waking up with a mouth like sandpaper in the middle of the night.

If I've been drinking I take a glass of squash but that's it. I'd be piddling all night if I drank before sleeping!

I used to take a glass of water with me to drink. But I don't anymore really, if I wake up in the night I just walk down stairs and get one. Might have to start doing it again because I find myself waking up in the night a lot more these days, and sometime I just can't get to sleep.

Did it, read 25% of a book on my kindle, usually 10 minutes or less and I'm gone.

I bring an empty glass to bed. It's full of whiffy ungodliness by morning. As if by magic.

No I couldn't drink something that may have had spiders swimming in it while I slept.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,199 ✭✭✭Shryke

Spiders can't climb out of a glass. You think you'd be more concerned with them crawling about your face. In your ears nose and mouth over your closed eyes. Slipping down your duvet and sneaking into every crevice unnoticed laying eggs. Unless you meant like a cup because maybe they'd get out of ceramic but I'm no expert.

Obviously they spin a web first so they can climb back out.

Swimming? Leisurely swimming? Or for fitness swimming?

    Holy sweet lamb.

Religiously bring a drink of water to bed every night. Never drink it...it's an OCD...one of many....like all these dots....................... :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

I thought that a nightcap would really work for me, because I have really bad sleep problems. But, instead of going to bed at one and walking about five, I ended up waking about half three. There's no beating it....

    Mug a' tae, every night.

Normally, no. If I'm drinking and I think of I'll leave a bottle of coke beside the bed so it's warm when I wake up in the morning, warm coke seems to sooth the demons for a while.

A can of diet coke from the fridge, it has to be cold.
Sometimes it's unopened in the morning, but during the night if I'm thirsty and I drink it the right way up...it does the job.

you think that's bad, my OH takes a glass of milk, a glass of water, her two inhalers, her vibrator, and finally a hot water bottle to bed with her every night, oh, and she keeps her handbag in her bedside locker too, while she's her mobile phone plugged in charging on top of the locker!

I never used to do this but when I started sleeping with the oh i realized she always brought a glass of water with her to bed every night which I found quite odd at first.

She's planning for an asthma attack and a futter at the same time! That woman thinks ahead.
