Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think the answer says a lot about what generation you are from.

Baldrick, but he is a good and engaging presenter, he parodies it every now and again.

    Baldrick was a comedy legend.

I always think of Timmy Mallett for some reason.

He was also in "Maid Marion and her Merry Men" on CBBC.

    That was good, too.

How did he do it, he somehow became a serious presenter about intelligent things, from a hilarious and unique clown.

That was "a very cunning plan"

Here's one for you, who remembers fat tulips garden?

I think of Robin Robinson then Tony Blackburn.
Then I think of Tony Robinson then Robin Williams.
The it goes to Robbie Williams - then Venus Williams onto Gillette Venus and from there to Jennifer Lopez.
I dunno - what was the question again?

I have never been able to watch Rowan Atkinson in anything other than Blackadder as I find he makes me cringe. Robinson's baldrick was genius casting imo

Were you watching Tony Robinson's Superstitions earlier then? :D

He was observing brain surgery, to illustrate a point about how far medicine has come. The patient was awake but sedated - think all those post-dentist youtube videos - and called for him, and when he went over to hold her hand and she asked him if she should call him "Tony or Baldrick".

    Funny little moment.

One of the best castings in it was Miranda Richardson as Queen Elizabeth.
Deliciously vicious and psychotic in equal measures

    Loved that show
It was on Sunday mornings and I was trying to watch to the end before being driven to Mass by the mammy

Theme song was ridiculously catchy, I still remember it

I've always called Timeteam "History with Baldrick"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,637 ✭✭✭Show Time

Baldrick from season one The Blackadder was a lot different then in the other three seasons of the show. He had the brains and Blackadder was the thicko.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,814 ✭✭✭TPD

I've watched a lot more blackadder than time team, but he's never called Tony in blackadder - I'm going to have to go with time team.

The episodes with Rik Mayall were genius too. The Brits are world leaders when it comes to sitcoms.
