Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I live in an old famrhouse and a group of Starlings its have made a nest in the attic. I found a small opening under the roof of the house where there flying in and out of.

I spotted an ad in the farmers journal a bit back about some sort of system for getting rid of them, have any of you used it? Any other methods of getting rid of them?

They are protected by law at nesting time, as are all Irish birds.

You will need to wait till they have reared their young, then you can block up their access.

This time last year i had them nesting in a vent going into the attic .
I swore once they left i would go up and put a cover on it . But being the lazy fecker that i am around the house I never did and now they are back in the same vent , and the vent outside our en sweety seems to be missing its cover so they are in there aswell :D
But sure it wont be for long till they are off about their business again even if the wife is losing the head about them sh1tting on the bathroom window for now .
Next year i will definitely put up the covers

The young will be out of the nest before the end of next month and you can block it up then. To be sure of next year you can put up a cut-out hawk/falcon that will keep the birds away.

Thanks. I'll wait the 2/3 weeks until they have gone and seal it up.
