    Does anyone know how to calculate r and theta from the question attached?

    Thanks for the tip I tried that first but it was 2.2MB and the upload limit is 1MB so I zipped it ill see if I can upload it as a pic

    Its from a pre paperfrom this years Paper 2 leaving cert exam

    oh god that question was disgusting, i got 6/75 for it in my mock...the radius is 1 from what i remember - the 2.5 minus the 1.5 on the sides. you need to draw in the semi-circle though. then you make some kind of triangle?

    maybe finality will get her chance to shine here. :P

    I tried that and its an isosceles triangle and I used the sine rule and the cosine rule and trig identities but still cant get it out!! Its disgusting alright!!
