Good goal by Xabi but feel hard done by not to have won a few quid after that half. Not many chances bar the slack defending for the goal

Doubt they'll be offering those prices on Alonso in the next match.

Can't believe a Spanish player managed to get booked first.

    Spain vs Portugal

If you look at Spain's results in the World Cup:
    1-0 vs Portugal (16th finals)
    1-0 vs Paraguay (1/4 finals)
    1-0 vs Germany (semi finals)
then 1-0 vs Holland after extra time

Spain beat Germany 1-0 in the final of the Euro 2008.

    In this Euro, Spain won:
    1-0 vs Croatia
    2-0 vs France (could've finished 1-0 though)

    Portugal lost 1-0 vs Germany

    I've gone for:
    Spain to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 @ 2.65

    edit: even better:
Spain to win and under 2.5 goals in the game @ 3.30

Gone for BTTS in the England game. Can see them getting 1 but can also see Italy scoring 11/10 pp.

  • Registered Users Posts: 385 ✭✭deano546

PP's 2 enhanced bets today are:
Rooney to score anytime and England to win in 90 mins. 9/2
Or, England to win on penalties 11/1
    http://www.paddypower.com/bet/powerplay/enhanced-football-special?ev_oc_grp_ids=273706
If you had to pick one of them which would you pick, I'm leaning towards the 1st one but not sure.

    All win in 90 minutes.

    Worked out @12'ish

Not too high hopes for that though as I cant remember a Euro 1/4 final round where none of the matches went into ET.

But it was the loyalty bonus of bet365 that i put on it.

Need to find a way to secure profit here.
Obvious thing is England to qualify @1.9

Could use the free in game bet of bet365 for that but then i need a safe-as-possible pre game bet.
Over 0.5 goals in the match @1.12 to activate the free bet and the only risk i run not to make profit is a 0-0 and then Italy to qualify via ET or penalties.

There has been no 0-0 yet in the tournament and that scares me....

    Anyone any better ideas?

had that bet on germany 3.4 and spain 3.1 in the quarters. Definately the way to go in the spain portugal match.

Would it not be easier to just lay Italy on Betfair? There would be no risk involved so you wouldn't have to worry about the result of the match.

this game could well end in a scoreless draw in normal time. Seen someone mention under 3.5 second half goals as the first bet obviously which would be a good way to go.

the most obvious way to lock in a profit (as italy winning in et or penos loses with your original idea) is to bet the exact opposite of your original bet - lay italy in normal time on betfair.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 markvighan

Second quarterfinal of Euro 2012 that could go either way will be played today between England and Italy in Ukraine and might be the first match that could go into extra time or even penalties because there isn't any significant difference between the two sides.
Still at this moment I rate a better side England and see them to advance in the next round because their new manager has managed to do what last one didn't, namely to make his team to play as a team and make the players put a smile on their face and don't be constantly under pressure of making something bad and let down one more time the team.
Agree Italy is not a bad team but has at this moment more weaker spots then England and although is seen by the bookie as small favorite I expect Rooney and Gerrard to help their team to reach in the semifinals.

Problem with that is that i looked into Betfair a few times in the past.
And i just dont get it....

My problem is that i am not a native English speaker. Not a problem so much in general but when stuff gets too technical i rather give up before i **** up.

you will figure betfair out in 30 minutes and it is definately worth the effort. Its not 'technical' or difficult. Just stick on a few e2 bets and lays and you will get it.

Yeah, go to "all other markets" and its "Spain to win and 1 or 2 goals in the match". Same thing as spainand under 2.5 goals. Its 5/2.

Just seen that enhanced bet - England to win on penalties at 11/1. Is it just me or are they TERRIBLE odds.

Surely predicting that a match will go to penalties and then predicting the winner is well over 11/1.

Theres a good chance of it but thats why the odds are so poor for penalty's.
I might just take both teams to score no

    italy to qualify at 5/6

i dunno how whether FT or ET or penalties but they looked much better then England in the group stages as the english were fragile in the defence.

    Interested in 0-0

There is so much talk in the media (particularly on ITV and BBC) that no match has ended in a draw, it seems kinda perfect that their match would be the one to break that streak.

England to have 44% possession or more @10/11 on Stanjames.

Great value seeing as Italy had only 53% possession against Ireland, and had less possession than Croatia.

Italy is supposed to play 4-3-1-2, which makes them more narrow than when playing 3-5-2. Also they won't play Maggio and both full backs aren't as attackind minded as Napoli wing back. Getting corners from wide areas can be more difficult. Hopefully (for your bet) it will be compensated with Cassano and Balotelli roam more than in previous games.

    Italy 15/8
    Draw 15/8

even the bookies are having trouble calling with this one :pac:
