    We don't need Hulk.

    Hulk would become TorresII

Give Torres games and in 5 weeks he'll be praised by all.

Maybe, maybe not, but either way it would be wise to have a back up in place if Roman is willing.

It isn't because you can't expect another multimillion pound signing to hit the ground running.

We have too many attacking players.

If we have to we can play Sturridge who knows what to do in the EPL. If both are out stick Mata up top and play like Spain at the Euros, we will see that happen this year. Lukaku shouldn't have been sent on loan.

Yeah, Moses is going to be second choice striker behind Torres

That is not what I asked. Please keep up

Just seen on the Newcastle forum that Tiote is out tomorrow, Hazard should have a field day now :pac:

I answered a stupid question with a sarcastic answer.

Bit of common sense would go a long way.

lol at thinking Moses in means Studge out.

    That is pretty stupid.

You either went out of your way to ask a really stupid question or you aren't the brightest.

    I think it is both.

Yep, very impressed we managed to get it together this season.
Some odd and unexpected choices, but now a meaner leaner younger looking squad with some real creative and attacking quality and a far amount of pace.
Reckon next season we will look hard at central midfield and defence

Chelsea have put down a serious marker with all these signings, years ago when we were just buying big names because of who they were was just a waste, we're now buying world class youngsters who will actually have careers with us and hopefully be the backbone of the team in a couple of seasons, Ill be honest and say if we don't win anything this year I'll be pissed but really this is our season for transition anything else will be a bonus, exciting times ahead for us Chelsea fans

this has to be a season for transition, but still if things arent going great there will be the same complaining as usual.. transitional season or not..

Very true, I'll probably be the 1st on here moaning but that's football:pac: hopefully Roman isn't an emotional wreck like some of us and gives Robbie a fair crack at it, although I do think we'll do well this season

Did anyone expect anyone of this summers signings?
I certainly didnt. Maybe Hazard at a push, but I expected people like Cavani, Hamsik etc

And I've no idea how we managed to sign a brazillian without all that Lucas type nonsense!

Hazard was probably the last player I thought we'd sign especially after him saying he'll play in Manchester next season, I was also surprised by the Marin signing, I knew of him from a while back but he seemed to have stalled in his progression, although he looks to be a good player from what ive seen of him so far.

I would like maybe one more signing preferably a striker and then I think that'll be enough till next summer, I also expect a few to leave.

Lukaku's sounding like a serious threat against Spurs, he seems to be doing very well there so far.

I'll be expecting a win against Newcastle, its games like these that we have to win and we have the team this season to push and beat teams like Newcastle. I'm expecting we'll concede a goal so I hope Hazard and Torres are on form.

    C'mon Chelsea

In other words Hulk is unleashed to Zenit!
So seems they have tabled a 50 million bid, that is some statement of intent from Zenit,I wonder what will happen to Arshavin and his future?

    Duncan Castles has confirmed this

Zenit St Petersburg have offered €50million for the Brazil forward as the Russian champions seek to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League. While FC Porto say they have not accepted a bid that amounts to half of Hulk's buyout clause, it is understood that the Portuguese club will sell for that figure if it is not exceeded in the final week of the transfer window. Chelsea have pursued Hulk for well over a year, but are not expected to match Zenit's offer for the 26-year-old.

Great first half performance. Second half we sat back and invited them on which was dangerous as they had a couple of chances they should have taken! Still 9 points out 9, Hazard is unreal and Torres is scoring. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

We dont need strikers if we can keep finding Torres chances and he takes them. Hazard has been a revelation, Mata needs a rest fast too but were looking good.

Also heard Lukaku was a real handful against Spurs when he came on today, Great to see him start so well!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,358 ✭✭✭kev1.3s

Had a real fear Torres was going to get himself sent off after his unfair booking but didn't he take a fantastic goal for himself as for Eden I was a little sceptical of him at first but I'll have to admit he's been outstanding not only within chelsea but also the premier league.
How many times has a player produced 3 man of the match performances in a row?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,301 ✭✭✭blue-army

Hazard will go down as an all time Chelsea great if he keeps this up. Some messi-esque dribbling today, his speed and balance on the ball is unbelievable!

Delighted to see Torres score again too. Proving his doubters wrong once again, hope he keeps it up now!

So far what are the differences between us this time last year and now?

RDM and a bucket load of cash! :D

RDM plays to our strengths, talks to the players
plus we have Hazard and a younger faster squad

No high line. As AVB said himself, he tried to change things too quickly
But RDM deserves credit. He played a team that only has Hazard as different from last season, but plays Bertrand on the left as he is defensively minded which Malouda isnt and when Ramires plays on the right, he will track back which danny wouldnt

We're keeping the ball instead of lumping it forward and we have more options. Were playing a better style of football because we have better players to implement it. We'll need a CM soon though.

Was only half joking. Its clear RDM knows how to keep the senior players sweet and plays to their strengths whereas AVB's philosophy and theirs was simply incompatible.

    i would still sign Hulk.
Hazard is more left sided, and if we had Hulk, he would be the same threat on the right. Our right side is still weak

We have Studge, signed Marin and Moses.

Signing Hulk for zillions to play in a position that we bought 2 players for already is crazy.

In fairness, I have only ever seen Marin play on the left despite being right footed. Danny hates being stuck out on the right and is generally ineffective when played out there. Moses also isn't quite up to the required standard for a starting right winger just yet. I'd love to see Hulk come in, but only for a reasonable (by our standards) amount.

So what do we do with the other 237 players we have in attack. 238 is too much.

Oscar can even ply his trade out there.

Neymar will be with us next year anyway so **** Hulk. Let him go fail in Russia.

There's obviously a lot of deadwood to be shifted, but they're not going to be in the team regardless of if we manage to get Hulk or not. Yes, Oscar could do a job, but he's much more effective in the middle of the park and still needs time to adapt. Also, there is ZERO chance of us getting Neymar. He'll 100% go to either Barca or Real.

Neymar? Big chance we can get him.

    Money
    London
    Premier League
    Class squad
    Few Brazilians in squad

Don't want him but I think we will be going in big to get him, hence no big name striker yet this year.
