Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    We use all Gain(Glanbia) feed.
Startacalf at begining, while still on milk, then onto Calf Crunch probably when eating half kg. Wean at 6/7 weeks, then couple of weeks later, mix in Calf Rearer nuts, gradually going fully onto them, same lead-in to regular beef nut at about 4 months.

We mix up our own calf ration, just by hand half a ton or so at a time. 4 parts rolled barley to 1 part citrus pulp to 1 part soybean meal with the appropriate amount of general purpose mineral.. usually start them on it at4 weeks of age or so tho..

My weanlings seem to prefer crunch to nuts, might be the molasses in crunch. They seem to do well on it anyways

Oh right... oops . it's by weight, i weigh a 5 gallon drum of each ingredient and work it out from that. then usually 4 or 5 turns of the heap with a grain shovel mixes it good enough. just drum it into a half ton bag for storage..

Nuts have the advantage that they don't draw the fecking crows :D

Crunch first and then I mix equal pars crunch and beef nuts later on.

Crunch is great stuff altogether I mix it with meal to start stock off on meal, or mix it with a dairy nuts for a cow with twins or a cow slack on milk i evn put a bag of two of it in a tub mixer when the silage wasn't great

True enough feeding them in the evening helps too, doesn't seem to be as many crows around then...
