Sports action shots

Just a few shots from my local rugby club, I enjoy taking sports shots, I was looking for some threads to compare and learn from so any advice appricated and feel free to add your own shots here as well. c&c also welcome!!!

You've a lot of images there.

With the women's Ireland V Wales game, I covered that too, if you want to look over my images - here.

Image #1 - It's focused on the stand in the background, not the player with the ball.

Image #2 - watch your horizons. Also, a sitting or kneeling position gives better images.

Image #3 - Eh, ok image. Faces work a lot better than the backs of players.

Image #5 - Looks very heavily cropped in, and pixelated. Not very sharp.

Image #6 - Nothing much in the image. No ball. Player just lifted in to the air.

Images #7, #8 - Probably the best of the lot.

Not trying to be critical, but hope this has been constructive.

I appricate all the advice I can get, I took a look at your web site thought it was great espically the rugby (lol) and the advice cheers! just wondering if its hard to get into the games it's something I'd love to be able to do in the future.

Next to impossible to get into provincial games if you're not with an agency. Best bet is club level and work your way up from there.

As Ken says, by far your best bet is to work with your local club. Most clubs don't mind you taking picts.

#2 i know is focused on the backround, i use single point focus for action shots, some times the action is fast:D

Shoot tight, crop tighter, and watch your horizons.
