Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Could see that coming for the last ten minutes. Was hoping they could ride their luck until half time. Need to get Park and Giggs off I think.

I'd hate to be Smalling in the united dressing room in a minute. Fergie will go through him!

    Smalling.
But I think he got a push in the back, a small push, but still a foul.

Time to change the gameplan now, poor tactics from Fergie.

    Valencia on please.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,523 ✭✭✭joe123

Totally deserved. United have been on the back foot for almost the entire game.

I doubt it will just be Smalling who fergie will be tearing into, they've hardly had a shot on target the whole half.

Brilliant goal on the half time mark. excellent buildup from city.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,376 ✭✭✭Anyone

City deserve that, pretty much controlled that first half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,630 ✭✭✭steelcityblues

    United midfield almost non existent.

    Man United
Will be good for the game as a spectacle. Might be good for United in a strange way as they will have to express themselves more now. I feel they can hurt City if they go for it.

Will be interesting now to see if Mancini will try to shut up shop.

So does anybody think the manager got the team or the tactics right so far then?

If he doesn't change something this game is gone, absolutely useless display. Park and Giggs, says it all

What a fucking header, get in!

Good half from City apart from the high crosses to a team of midgets. Solid for h most part, hopefully United will come at us now and we'll expose the gaps that haven't been there.

Check out the gendarme in the crowd behind the nets as the ball goes in - City fan trying to be discreet!! :D

    Its good for the game.

United will actually have to try to attack now.

Had Rooney first to score so a little dissappointed, but City definitely deserved the lead.

    Aw, an uncontroversial goal. Boo:P

De Gea should have collected the first corner, he came for it and didn't get near it. Not his fault for the goal though, can't place too much blame on Smalling either imo. It was a good cross and Smalling did his best to get up for it it wasn't like he was a million miles away, was just unlucky. Kompany is a beast

    Shocking defending for the goal.
Park is doing well defensively but sh1t on the ball.

Would like to see Wellbeck feature up front for us. His pace might cause problems for CB on a yellow.

City players seemed to freeze. I don't think they believed they had really scored!

Never seen utd play so negatively. Coming for a draw was dangerous and are deservably behind.

2nd half should be better as a spectacle.

    No more than City deserved.

    Simple as that really.

Here's hoping City push on, they tried to defend a couple of seasons ago and got hurt in injury time. I think United could sneak one, but I can see City scoring again.

    United midfield almost non existent.

Yep, sitting too deep and whenever they do get it up the pitch City have Rooney suffocated in the hole so he can't release the ball out wide.

It'll be interesting to see if Fergie changes it second half.

    Far too negative by Ferguson.
The minute I saw Park on the team sheet I knew it was going to be a dour defensive approach.
Park is a bad omen, everytime he plays Utd lose.

Valencia right, Nani left and Giggs either off or centre. Don't know who's on the bench. Changes have to happen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭OctavarIan

Last few times Park has played he has been falling all over the place. At the same carry on today. Combination of bad balance and lack of game time, it's infuriating to watch.

Rooney acting like a spoiled child out there, not impressed with his attitude at all. Marriner been quite lenient with United so far, great to see Kompany get the goal though, he was hard-done-by for that booking

The only difference is with zonal Smalling would have been too far away to be blamed.:)

Not a chance City will shut up shop. They will continue to attack in the hope of finishing us off.

Deserved lead for City. United are set up to invite pressure and got what they deserved.

Giggs off, Valencia on. Nani left, Rooney dropping deep and Welbeck or Hernandez up top, actually I think Hernandez would do well tonight.

Wrong from the start. The set up is far too defensive & that hasn't worked out. he needs to bring on Valencia & go for the jugular.

He seems more interested in trying to get kompany sent off than his own game.

    He is rubbish.
Just runs around like a headless chicken and any pace he had is gone.
When he gets the ball he hasnt a clue what to do with it .
