So does anybody think the manager got the team or the tactics right so far then?

If he doesn't change something this game is gone, absolutely useless display. Park and Giggs, says it all

I think he looked to sit back and look for chances on the break relying on pace and ground football. Just hasn't worked.

At times the defending was excellent. However the lack of discipline present to let that goal in from a header let them down badly.

I can't think of a disaster recovery plan and there's 45 minutes left to save the season.

In a way it was kinda worse from a Utd. fan point of view before the goal came in because there was always a sense that it was coming. A calm acceptance has washed over me now. Acceptance and loud swearing.

He seems more interested in trying to get kompany sent off than his own game.

Would have been a good tactic if he got him sent off 10 mins ago!

    United midfield almost non existent.

Its hard to spot them, but they are about 2 feet infront of the back four.

You think he has bad balance?

Relative to other professional footballers, yes.

Obviously he has better balance than 40yr old Joe who commutes to work every day. Although he still falls over more often.

Smalling ffs, giving Kompany a running start for the goal, its going to be interesting to see what Utd do now, they havent passed the ball at all keep giving it away and only inviting the pressure on,Valencia will have to come on,poor old Park is like a lost dog out there

Desrved lead for City. Wouldn't surprise me to see United nick an equalizer even though they haven't really looked like doing so, then again it wouldn't surprise me to see City tear them apart on the counter.

P.S gotta laugh at Tevez holding back DeGea for the goal.

    Man United
Giggs and Park need to come off, non exsistent. Bring on Valencia or Young cause Rooneys lost up front! Second half set up perfectly.

Second half might actually turn into a decent spectacle now. Interesting to see if Ferguson makes a change at the break, although I really think he has to. Plenty of game changing options on the bench anyhow I guess.

It's not really. I think City are a better side. United are just unbelievable at beating the bottom 12 teams.

    Man United
2-1 Man Utd., goals scored by Hernandez and Wellbeck/ Hernandez and Berbatov, in the 89th and 91st minute respectively.

Does that not make you the better side? (also you're making me defend Utd which is not the norm for me!:p)

Thats the second undeserved booking for City.

No way that should have been a free not a mind a Yellow, even for the reaction.

money on City -1 at 15/8 and -2 at 17/2. I fancy City to carve them open if United try to go for it.

It was a foul, and he deserved the yellow for stupidity after that reaction. Always going to be a booking in the last few years.

Would it be fair to say that next goal wins the league?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,947 ✭✭✭✭ShaneU

United are constantly being forced into making risky passes and keep losing possession, not enough men getting forward to support Rooney.

    edit: Park off thank god.

No. If utd score, city could still win the game. If city score it, they could still drop points next weekend realistically.

Meh, bouncing the ball in anger is soft in my book.
Then again Rooney got a second yellow against Fulham for throwing the ball angrily.
I agree that it was stupid however, whateve his feelings were.

The free was soft however. Is shoulder to shoulder not allowed? Toure was just stronger and Giggs just turned and looked at the Referee.
