Haha that would be ironic. Might be justice for the Sol Campbell transfer, slightly unlikely though! Would prefer ex arsenal player Van Persie than ex arsenal player Adebayor though! :D

There is. Moutinho said he's a great manager and would play for him again tomorrow. Pretty sure it was him who said that or another Porto player. Probably him.

Yeah it was Moutinho, he was quoted in several papers during the week. I think the price might be an issue though. I can't see Levy spending all the (possible) Modric money on one player!

I’d like to see AVB give Pienaar another crack at it. His loaned spell at Everton worked wonders.

This thread seems appropriate, Caulker's gotten a new contract: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/new-deal-for-caulker-05072012.page?

    re: Pienarr.

Hopefully AVB will take a good look at him in pre-season tours etc and then decide if he's good enough to keep around, if not there will still be plenty of other interested teams inbetween the EPL kick-off in mid-august and the closing of the transfer window in September.

    Moyes wants him back.

ye saw that on SSN too. moyes said that although they havnt seen any bids for their key players, they might have to sell to raise funds. the asking price for pienaar is aparently 5 million.

if i was AVB, i'd say ok well give you 5 million plus pienaar for baines. or maybe a bit more cash.

in fairness we dont really need pienaar. and we could do with a better option at left back. the thought of our back line as walker, kaboul, vert and baines just reaaly excites me. it would e one of the best in the premier league.

i'v always been a fan of baines, and this could be the perfect chance to snap him up.

Baines is a realistic target too. Prob go for around 10m.
Just as long as UTD dont blow us out of the water with a silly bid or crazy wages.

Signed Zeki Fryers from United tonight. Great promising left full and competition for BAE!

    Fryers 19
    Sigurdsson 22
    Vertoghen(hopefully) 25

I like where this is going!

Anybody follow this guy on twitter? He seems to be on the ball proper.

Apparently Jan Vertonghen is a spurs player! :D

Cheers for this, he's saying we have a 15 million bid going for Lloris! So we are interested in him.

I'd say he's worth about that, maybe up to 20 million.

would defo be happy with those two...

rumors are that UTD are preparing to bid for moutinho. i hope its not true cause, although he would cost most of the modric money, he would be the ideal replacement for modric.

It would also mean that they wont buy Modric aswell as Moutinho.
    So we win either way!

ok but wat if madrid make a bid, plus it seems modric just doesnt want to be here anymore. and if he doesnt want to be here, he wont give it his all on the pitch and will prob have a "hissy fit" cause he's not playing for a bigger team/ in the CL. i would rather have someone who has the desire to play for spurs and that will give everything instead of him.

we only "win" if AVB somehow manages to convince him that here is where his future lies.

Levy's already said he won't sell modders to an English club though....not that I think moutinho is even on our radar

Wouldn’t be overly keen on Moutinho, certainly not for the figures being touted. Modric to Madrid rumours have gone eerily quiet, I can’t see any other outlets for him?

    +1 but in AVB/Daniel we trust ;)

Has he though? (I'm not been funny)- I dont recall reading an actual quote from DL to that effect and a quick google just now hasnt found anything.

Dont get me wrong, I hope he goes abroad too but if RM/PSG dont make a bid then we may have no choice but to accept bids from rival EPL clubs

I'm on phone at the moment but I'll post a link when I find it, you're right though, there may not be a quote and it could be media bluster (much like the modric saga itself)

Looks like the Vertoghen deal is finally done!!! 4 year contract with the option of 2 more. Only paperwork to be completed now. COYS

Is this Vertonghen character any good? He's playing in a **** league isn't he?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,375 ✭✭✭Antisocialiser

Whatever about the league, Ajax have a knack for bringing some unbelievable players through - Bergkamp, Suarez, Van der Vaart, Ibrahimovic, Sneijder for example.

I think every transfer has a certain risk to it tbh!

He looked good for Belgium against England recently.

Agent ITK on twitter who seems good is saying Van der Vaart is heading back to hamburg.

..would be suicide imo to let him go before we (re)sign Ade AND 1other striker. At this rate we will be left with Defoe. (who is 1 player we should be offloading)

I've seen many "In the knows". Some of which say that he is staying, some saying he is going. I think that AVB will have learned from his spell at Chelsea to not remove the established players quickly, but to slowly integrate new talent instead.

I truly hope that VDV does not go yet, as he is our classiest player. He may not fit into the perceived AVB 433 system perfectly, but I'm sure there is a place for him in the squad.

I'd take everything this guy says with a pinch of salt, I'd say he gets it right 50% of the time. For example, in May he tweeted that Vertonghen had signed for Arsenal.

Agree about Agent ITK, he is a fraud and jumps on the bandwagon of any rumour going.
