Completely agree, this should still be the main priority. Doesn't sound like it is though.

It's a tricky one though. If we're gonna play one up front I can't see Ade warming the bench if a new striker comes along and breaks into the first team. So are we looking for someone as good as Ade who's happy to play second fiddle? I like the idea of someone like Remy who could rotate with the wide position's while Ade is fit.

If Levy has amended his bid that's very underhanded/stupid...

It does seem like this is the case (assuming any of this is true). Which would really piss me off. I'm all for playing hardball on prices, but some of the evaluations that Levy seems to have (both in and out) and just way off.

Reneging on an agreement is dodge and not something i'd like to see spurs do. But im hoping the way off evaluation of prices is just part of a Levy genius strategy.

Going to Sunderland as a left winger I think according to MON, which is odd as he has played his best football for spurs at left full. Never really impressed when playing outside left, despite his pace and aggression. Lacks a little bit to make it at the top level i think. In saying that, I hope he does well wherever he goes, a consistent run of games could be the making of him.

Still a legend all the same :D

    Cheers for the assessment.

I'd be amazed if he doesn't play as a left back for us mate. Richardson is on the way out to Fulham and we desperately need an LB now. For all I know Rose could be signing as a winger and we'll sign a different LB but if I was to guess I'd say Rose will play left back.

Just a loan deal anyway as far as I know.

Thoughts on Danny Rose please lads? Lots of reports he's going to join on loan when Richardson completes his move to Fulham.
Wouldn't rate him as an LB at all. Best game I've seen him play was at Stevenage in the cup at LM but I can't see him getting a game there at Sunderland. Liability at LB.

He had a run of games either towards the end of last season or the season before. I highly rated him and expected him to excel, kind of faltered since then and hasn’t really capitalised on his opportunities to impress.

I think he could do very well at Sunderland given a run of games.

That statement from Lyon was taken down after 20-30 minutes yesterday apparently we haven't changed the agreement and it's Lyon playing games trying to get more money because they are broke.

Levy cant be in 2 places at once so I'm going to say 2 players in today, but one will have to be wrapped up fairly early (lunch time)

And another one at the 11th hour (literally)

I think we will get Lloris and possibly Remy.

We need a striker badly, we can't rely on just Adebayor and Defoe. I have this horrible feeling we'll end up signing Michael Owen as a panic buy!

I still have a feeiling Vdv will leave and Lloris, Remy and Moutinho will be signed:cool::cool:

I cant wait or the window to end so I can buy a new 'F5' button

SSN just showed VDV turning up at the lodge to pick up his stuff, he was in a hurry, in and out in 3 minutes and left as the others were turning up for training. He's gone.

Nbar, I have the exact same horrible feeling. Owen has tweeted that 2 Premiership clubs are interested in him. You know what Levy is like it would not surprise me.

yeah vdv looks to be gone. Things look like they are happening in a hurry

This window could make or break us, if we get the big names in then we are sorted but if they dont come off then we could be looking at del piero and owen

    From Alex ferguson on berba

I wouldn't be surprised if he was at Tottenham. There are rumours going around.I do not think it is settled at Fulham.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

    VDV gone.

That's a shame. Pity he didnt get an official send off or something like that.

I'll be very surprised if we dont get one from Moutinho/willian/Remy now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

That's heavily photoshopped but apparently the deal is done as the two clubs negotiated overnight. Should be announced today.

Gutted that VDV is leaving. He's a player I genuinely enjoyed watching. I'll never forget how I felt when I found out he'd signed! I wish him the best and I hope we more than adequately replace him!!

Talk about bittersweet!! In one way, he'd be great - I can't believe he's still only 31. Him and Ade up front would be brilliant. On the other hand he's a bloody traitor and acted like a spoilt child when he wanted to move.

Mixed feelings about this! Acted like a spoiled brat when he wanted to leave us! He'll need to put in some big big performances to win me and other spurs fans back imo

berba is very good at being the lone striker, wouldnt be bad as a backup for ade

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭Shammy

Am I missing something....thought Berba is gone to Fulham, highest paid player......TBH dont want to see him back at the lane.

We've been linked with a lot of names over the last few weeks, I hope we wont be disappointed.

Fergie on Berba: "He's not gone yet. We thought he was in Italy. He could be anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he was at Tottenham" #MUFC

That's the twitter quote. There's no way this can be true. I don't want him back at the club. I liked him when he was playing for us, but he acted the total bollox when he was leaving, and i was glad to see the back of him.

It's not going to happen, and we can definitely do better.
