We don't need Moutinho anyway. Dembele is a good replacement for Luka. Siggy and Dempsey are good replacements for VdV.

£8 million for Lloris, possibly raising to £12 million. 4 year deal.

    Very good price.

surely avb had spoke unofficially to moutinho about wages.

I don't think we should have allowed ourselves to be held to ransom or break our wage structure no matter what the transfer fee.

    Ormus

If he wasn't within our wage structure we wouldn't be after him..

Ah yeah but then we got Dembele instead. I'm half disappointed cos it would have been exciting, but it's definitely not a position we need to spend 22m on when we have already replaced Modric.

Just my opinion. Can anyone really explain to me how we needed him and Dembele?

Has to be a done deal, Hudd on the way out. COYS!

Huddlestone apparently leaving tonight, not sure where yet, or if it's a loan/permanent move.

Haha, well I do mostly love the way he does business. I do concede it annoys me he leaves it so late. But as regards the way he negotiates, I think it's fantastic to have someone like that on our side.

It would appear that is the reason we're not after him.

Talk to Kane going as well now too. Hopefully just a loan deal though.

Kane at the lodge guessing he's heading out on Loan?

Surely if we've a fee agreed for him we're interested in him? Care to argue:rolleyes:

I think Joao would be a great signing.....although Dempsey is looking like a panic buy.

    Harry Kane called in ??
Ormus, moutinho and dembele are different players for me, not like for like. As said already, why bid if he is not within our wage structure ??

Kane needs premiership experience and should always have been loaned out, as is our loan policy. Caulker is ready to step up because he proved himself at premiership level, Kane needs to excel at a level above Milwall. Far too risky for Spurs at the moment.

Not arguing at all, we definitely wanted him. His wage demands were too high. We didn't want him at the wage he was demanding. Seems pretty cut and dried.

Yeah only having a pop!:D In answer to your question though, Dembele under BMJ has played similar position to Luka, so Modric and Hudd out, Dembele and Moutinho should make sense.

Slightly different players yes, Dembele a bit more physical I guess, Moutinho a bit more of a playmaker. But I would see them in the same position in midfield. The position Modric vacated.

I don't know if he was within our wage structure or not. Either he wanted more than our top earners or else he simply wanted more than we were willing to pay him. It's all speculation at this stage but same principle either way.

Just because he would have broken our transfer record doesn't mean he should automatically become our top earner.
