I think we are stronger than arsenal this year. They have lost song and rvp - without them last season they would have finished 6th!

This is true although I thought we had a stronger squad than Arsenal last year too but it wasn't enough to finish ahead of them.

God, it's hard to watch Thompson, Nicholls and Merson on Sky.... Such anti-tottenham "we love Harry" tripe!

At least Le Tisser is non-biased...

Not until January, he became a free agent after the deadline.

When the bid came in for Dawson and was accepted I could understand why daws was left out of the squad but why the hell wasn't he playing instead of callas today

Are we going to play Gallas every league game until Kabul comes back

We need a player to throw his body on the line and daws would have done that today and daws didn't even make the bench

Gallas couldn't make team last season and now he is a year older and slower and makes the starting 11

I don't like this freezing out of good players

The Portuguese revealed a deal was also desperately close to conclusion for Porto playmaker Joao Moutinho.'We agreed player terms late but there were situations regarding the contract that were not right so we didn't complete the transfer,' Villas-Boas said.'We have enough cover without him. Moutinho's transfer not happening should not overshadow the fact we have pulled off one of the biggest coups of the transfer market with Clint Dempsey, who is a player who can really help us to go one step further.'

I hope so Andre, for all of our sakes!

Bentley gone on loan to some Russian club. Did anyone see berbatov's agent say that Spurs but in late bid for him on deadline day?

Yeah I saw that thing about Berbatov, that would have annoyed me immensely. Actually I'm pretty annoyed that we even went for him in the first place. I wonder who's idea that was.

So you believe we went for him? even though we did a decent amount of business with the club he signed for. I prefer to think his agent/papers was talking ****. :pac:

Lord Fergie mentioned on Friday morning last that he thought Berbs would end up at Spurs.

AFAIK he was asked would Berbs be leaving and said he wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at Spurs. Think it was at Fergies Friday press conference. Read it online last Friday.

I won't bother reading that story as i've read that headline for every transfer window over the last 5 seasons, Manager X to get spurs warchest...etc..

Hope he strengthens where's needed but I won't expect too much cash to be splashed.

Pure speculation, no quotes or gossip. Of course there is money to spend, sure we bid 22m on deadline day for Moutinho.

I'm not even sure what we need at this stage. Would love to get Llorente but not sure how we'd fit him in. Would be good to get a winger who scores goals, but I wouldn't like to drop Lennon at the moment. I'm glad the Moutinho rumours seem to be dying anyway, he was never worth that money.

Still think we need competition on the wings for Bale and Lennon with the latter often too inconsistent in the final third. That said, I hope Townsend makes the grade, AVB was waxing about him yesterday.

Probably get slated for this but the question I ask is whether Ferguson would buy the player from us if we let him leave? With Lennon I don't think so, he's 25 now and his passing and crossing continues too frustrate, don't get me wrong I love the little fella but is there much more to his game than pace?
