The fuppin baxtard, Dempsey behind Defoe against QPR. Will that force Levy to dip into the pocket for a striker?

BetVictor has us odds-on to sign Leandro in this window...

    http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/leandro-damiao-specials/club-after-january-transfer-window

Positive sign, but are they merely basing their odds on paper talk? Surely they need more evidence than reports in The Sun to open a market?

A number of Brazillian "reputable" mags are running the story that an €18m bid has been put in but no idea if they would accept that.

They might with Gomes thrown in, although not sure why anyone would want him.......can we throw in Bentley too :D

Probably is a good sign, you never meet a poor bookmaker. It is likely that a combination of the below has lead to the odds:
    • Someone knows something about a bid being made in this window
    • Someone knows something about Internacional's valuation of the player
    • Previous bids in summer
    • AVB comments
    • Adebayor travelling to ACN
    • Papertalk

    Please let it happen!

No odds on him being an Internacional player then?

The one thing we haven't seen yet this window is the Internacional chairman coming out saying that he's not for sale and that he won't be allowed to go anywhere. That may yet happen, but until it does there may be some truth in the story.

Looked good during the olympics, would bag 15 PL goals a season I'd say.

Yeah he struck me as being not your typical Brazilian striker - strong and good in the air, with good feet too, which means he should be able to fit into the English game relatively easily. He'd be a good purchase with the added benefit of him being young.

Goal.com now reporting that we are to make an 'official' bid for Leandro - £15million.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,455 ✭✭✭celt262

Same crap as last 2 or 3 windows.

Now we are getting somewhere!!! An official bid for an amount that is clearly 25% under the market value. That sounds about right!!

He's right though! Didn't we reportedly bid something like £15m last January as well, or at least we were preparing a bid? Every window Leandro's name is mentioned, and every year nothing happens.

The difference this time around is that AVB is in charge, and Levy seems keen to keep him happy (with the exception of Moutinho of course!) so you'd never know! Unfortunately the 31st is a Thursday which means there'll be a few of us quite tired on Friday morning!!

I don't trust SSN any more, they were reporting Wengers huge interest in Holtby up until a few hours before Tottenham announced it was already a done deal.

I keep a wheel barrow of salt next to my desk when I'm reading articles about our potential signings. It's only fantasy until I read it on Tottenhamhotspur.com.

There is ITK talk about this fella, with those that watch the Ligue 1 rating him very highly. Still, as you said it's most likely nonsense.

Sneijder to Galatasaray? Maybe it's a good thing we don't sign him.

6 transfer windows in a row being linked with Leandro...I am not optimistic a deal will be done :P

And if a deal is eventually done for him he's bound to be a flop after all that chasing! :D

I refuse to believe any of these rumours until it's official. I've gotten my hopes up far too many times over the past few years about this possible transfer!
