Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Morning All,

    Just a quick question...

Is it possible to use the iphone 4S as a Sat Nav without having 3G connection turned on?

Is there an App or SW I would need to download?

Im looking to use the phone in the same way you would use a Garmin or TomTom, etc.

    Thanks

Investigate Tom Tom and co pilot. Both I believe can work in gps mode as apposed to gprs. ie. Data off data on. fixes will take longer I think.

GPS Navigation works just as well as Tom Tom for a fraction of the price. All you have to do is buy the map which is €2.99 for ireland I think and you can use it offline.

I've used Tom Tom internationally with data rooming turned off. It's all on the phone/gps. No data

There are free alternatives like Navfree which I've used abroad without a 3G connection however you do need phone coverage.

    I tired NavFree before.

I found it very inconsistent at best.
