Whats the rough price to get a light and a socket in an attic. Then to upgrade the fuse board in a 3 bed house standard house, the old fuse board is about 40 years old with the screw in fuses,

About €250 approx for a standard consumer unit supplied and fitted

Light and socket depends also, approx €50-€80

If the board is that old, the tails will be , the bonding etc is not in order& then there is a call out fee to the ESB to connect the old tails along with the certification required . The price quoted above won't cover it

    +1
Its very seldom on a house that age that you dont run into a lot of additional things that need upgrading and or replacing worst case it could nearly need a complete rewire.
It would be very difficult to even give a rough price with out looking at it
