A 3DO is a prototype 3DS. Its nicknamed that because its because it was short for 3d Nintendo I guess.

Nah, it had a handful of decent games. Road Rash, Need For Speed, Star Control 2 etc. It also had the definitive home port of Super SF2 for a LONG time...very near arcade perfect.

It was super expensive when it came out originally, & competed directly with the PS1. It lost obviously, but it did have some oddities that surpassed the PS1.

I like it, sure we play games not because of a game consoles library, but to play the game. And the 3DO does have some good games.

The 3DO hosted definitive versions of Road Rash, The Need for Speed, Return Fire, it had a great conversion of Starblade, one of the best versions of Samurai Showdown (outside of an SNK console), it had a very nice port of Wing Commander 3 and some interesting titles by EA and Crystal Dynamics.
It had The Horde, The Incredible Machine and, my favourite, Star Control 2.
And excellent version of Alone in the Dark as well, foreshadowing the later release of Resident Evil on a certain other format.
It has some oddities like Pataank, Killing Time and PO'd.

It's a cracking machine to collect for, the daisy chaining of the controllers is an innovative way to avoid the need for multi-taps as well.

Plus the FZ-1 can double as a shield against the impact of extinction level asteroid strikes, so dense is the device.

The probes they send to Neutron Stars are encased in FZ-1 shells.

Yeah, all region free but I think 1 or maybe 2 Jap games and a demo disc wont work on PAL systems because of a missing Jap font.

AVGN, one of those things I've always meant to watch more of but never do.

I guess reading Retr0's posts on here probably gives me enough of an angry videogame nerd fix to last a lifetime.

There's been a serious lack of new stuff from him as he's off-site now making the movie...the website is full of filler type cr@p.

I'd say he should probably look at killing the character off with the movie, the hiatus caused by making the movie, is oddly what will make people lose interest in the AVGN character. Plus he's kinda done everything he can do with the character at this point, from simple basement type eps to more complex stuff like the Rob The Robot video.

Lol for a second I thought you were talking about retr0! He did mention he has drama classes or something these days. I was thinking who in God's name would let him make a movie.

(Hopefully I haven't inadvertently given him any ideas.)
