Well well well, I slept in a wee bit today, so had no time for my usual routine.
I poped outside started scooby and sat inside. It was freezing outside ( 5-7 degrees ). So I poped the switch which said: heated seats.... My arse was sweating by the time engine/turbo warmed up and I could continue to work in comfort.

It's nice to get out from stone age lol!

I couldn't have been more wrong about Irish customs. Here I was thinking it would take a week for the Cobb TIP to get to me. I opened the door to go to work only to see a box with Cobb plastered all over it :D

Can't wait to get home and fit it!

All prejudice is local; the difference between townie and culchie/bogger/whatever epithet you choose can be equal for the smallest town versus somewhere 1/2 mile outside it!

So, now we know; they're fighting from different perspectives. I wonder whether the city based person might have a more pertinent perspective on short trip driving within a city. Probably not, that would be too logical to apply in Cork.

Maybe we should steer this back towards motors?

    (See what I did there?;))

    I think you misunderstood me....

    There's Dublin, then there's Bog.

Let's discuss the merits of a recent Diesel Vs. a Petrol for low mileage mostly short trip town runs.

    That's fresh and undiscussed, right?

Anyone know how to fix a head units cd player, the head unit in my ST made a few strange noise's over the weekend and decided to stop reading CD's then, everything else works fine, do those CD cleaners actually do anything or are they a bit of a gimmick?

CD player started working by itself again when a piece of dirt came out with one of the CD's! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

The cd cleaners do work. The usually come with some isopropanol which is applied to the little brushes on the disc. The question is though how come your still using cd's? :p

Do any of you guys watch the classifieds (donedeal gumtree etc) in search for cheap crap, I kinda mean bangernomics but a bit more extreme,

I mean, last week a buddy and myself spotted a few very cheap (mostly clapped out :D) cars/jeeps/vans/bikes/lawnmowers/trailers

so we snapped some of them up, i mean most of the things we pretty much worthless (sub 500e each) but.. we'll keep em for a few weeks, drive em a little (where relevant), clean em up, maybe do a few small jobs that need doing, and sell them on then, maybe not even making a profit.. sometimes do, sometimes lose and mostly break even..

Its our hobby almost, keeps us busy during the week, also its fun experiencing different machines and seeing what they are like to drive and perform and work on, also it stops us drinking our wages.. :P

Anyone else into badly organised, not for profit, wheelin' an dealin?'

Have to trim down the collection. First on the chop list: escort... If anyone wants parts before it goes, let me know, its going on sat!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

Ah no the escort is iconic and would be a shame to scrap it. It would make a nice resto project. It's only a weekends beer money at best :p.

Thats crappy MM, I got the car all sparkly at half 8 this morning,
just cause the weather is so unreliable!!

It's clearing off a bit now though. Thankfully, it's mechanical work, not detailing. The coat of Megs NXT I applied at the weekend is making it bead very nicely outside my window :)
