Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mchale yard engine wrapper / Tanco stacking wrapper

I am having a big problem with mould. I use a combi baler ( don't ask what make it is, don't what to start that argument ) I draw straight away, no crows, draw bales with keltec bale handler, check all bale in yard if there tear before stacking, and repair any that do.
Still this year bales are in a bad state.
The best grass and tedding etc.
My question is does anyone have any first hand experience with either a Tanco stacking wrapper or mchale yard wrapper with engine. Do these prove to wrap with a good tight seal with little or no handling resulting in little or no mould?

    Mchale 911BER OR TANCO EH1300 or EH1320

yeah we have gotten our's done with a tanco wapper stacker for the last 5 or 6 years and its very good. no damage to the plastic as it never hits the ground. the newer one has 2 arms so is as fast as a trailed unit. you would need to use a loader/teleporter to have enough hydrulic power to drive it. the bales are usually perfect, we have had a few bales that were mouldy this year they were all on the same side and you could see were it was failing. had the plastic rep out to have a look and he tried to say it was the wrapper but if that was the case then we wouldnt have it all in the same place, we reckon the plastic failed cos of the sun.

that said if you have a loader or plan to get one then id go with that system then wrapping them in the field then draing them in and hoping it wouldnt get damaged. our guy uses a mower, baler, keltec and wapper, depending on when you mow its a 3 man job.

Very good, so firstly wrapping in yard is better method to ensure a mould free bale
Secondly your at nothing without good plastic. That about right?
    So what is good plastic?

yeah we bring the bales into the yard straight after the baling, the keltec is a great yoke was up the country (sligo/lietrim, mayo and roscommon a fair bit over the last few years and i was suprised that more people didnt use them as there is a lot of baled silage in those parts. the loader will pick up the bale and will have it wrapped by the time its in position to stack the bale. there a a good few of these type of wrappers in the area. the single arm ones were not as fast as the trailed wrapper but you still needed a second tractor/loader & man to stack the bales. the 2 arm ones are lightening quick. as for the wrap i know a few guys around here who use the topwrap 2000, more expensive per roll but you get more bales per roll.
