    Longtime Stargate SG-1 composer Joel Goldsmith dies at 54 -
    "The composer responsible for setting the mood for much of the Stargate franchise, Joel Goldsmith, has passed away at the age of 54. Goldsmith worked on Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe, scoring a total of 334 episodes during his sci-fi career."

    RIP Joel Goldsmith

    Stargate wouldn't have been the same without him. I actually loved the music used in Stargate. It always set the scene perfectly if you ask me.

    Sad to hear. Seems he also did the score for CoD3.

    No cause of death has been released, but I think he had been battling cancer for a while.

    I think he did, he adapted it from the Movie score if I recall.

    He didn't do the SG-1 Intro if I recall correctly, that was done by the Stargate Movie Composer.

    Rest in Peace, I'll be humming those tunes for a while.
