Rockwell plagued with injuries at the moment, had a lot of u17 players out against Clongowes last week.

    Blackrock won anyway.

Also, does anyone know if Paddy Butler has a younger brother. The number 8. for Rockwell looked a lot like him.

I just stumbled upon this documentary about the Leinster School's Senior Cup. It follows the 2008 Belvedere side. I don't think it's a true enough reflection of the Senior Cup, but it does a decent job, and I thought maybe some of you would be interested in viewing it. Some familiar faces in it from a Leinster point of view. Tom Sexton, Darren Hudson, Jack McGrath, Michael Keating.
Also, I felt horrible watching the St.Mary's kicker miss at the end. I can only imagine how devastated he was. I didn't make my school's senior side so I don't have any great memories of playing in the tournament, but I have great memories of being in the stands.

Thanks for the link Hagz, good doc that gives decent info for someone who didnt go to a SC school

In Munster the final of the main C schools cup was played today. The Abbey Tipp town beat St Annes Killaloe and they now progress to the Mungret Cup where they play Midleton College in a semi final of the senior cup qualifier. Newtown School play Bandon Grammer in the other semi final

Nice even draw in first round
    http://www.leinsterrugby.ie/domestic/newsroom/10722.php
From a Nenagh perspective the 2 schools with Nenagh reps are not drawn together.

Are Columba's not in either cup at senior? Dont see them in the draw.
Can see Pats Navan and Gerards coming through the vinnie murphy if draw keeps them apart

Very early to be talking about next years interpro series but some of the provinces have warm up games lined up already with both Leinster 18 sides, the Connacht 18s and the Ulster 18s sides all playing an English side, the Independent Schools Lambs over Easter
Should be interesting group of games

    He's normally a 13.
That was his 10th try in 7 games.
    Fantastic athlete.
Serious side step, great acceleration & only in 5th year.

Anyone know where Maloney hails from? I know he played u18 with Leinster but is he a Connacht lad? Certainly doesn't sound like a ladyboy.

    EDIT: Laois?

From Abbeyleix I think? Gonzaga halfbacks really look the real deal as does this Andy Marks character

Castletroy are meant to be good this year i believe. Junior much more difficult to predict than senior as at senior level you can look to how schools did at junior level and how many each school had on the interpro sides.
Ard Scoil have lost the last 2 finals so this year could be their year to get the trophy

Irish management probably want to look at 40 or so players before they cut the squad for the training camps in january and the games in march/april. The 18s schools can play the youths while the 20s are playing provincial development squads so who can the 19s play??

Munster Senior Cup final qualifier game between Bandon Grammer and Midleton College is due to be played january 9th in PBC Corks ground in Wilton.

not trying to sound disparaging but munster clubs would be an easier team to make, much more players going for the schools team and coming from a higher standard of rugby

Dont really know. To make the youths you generally have to be starring at 15s/17s and get picked for your regions u17 side, perform well on that side to get picked for the provincial side while to make the munster schools side you have to make your school side at junior cup, play bowen shield, do well on that side maybe make your senior cup team and get selected for munster then.
Both are equal enough thesedays. Munster schools side regularly have several players each september that were youths until shortly before the interpros
There would be more players going for the youths side.
