But WHY is this a different case? Is there a back story to this that I missed (didn't hear Friday's show)

Back when crime was considered a serious thing to do, this ones da and two others were members of a splinter group of the INLA. To raise funds for arms and semtex they robbed a post office. Two police officers tried to stop them, a shoot out ensued and both the guards were shot dead. The three men were arrested, they were convicted although one got let off somehow. In those days the sentence for killing a guard was death, and they were sentenced to death but Garret Fitzgerald commuted the sentence of death, instead gave them life in prison, back when life was life, not 5 years.

Last week 2 prison officers rang Joe amid concern for the mental health of her Dad, who is the longest serving prisoner in the state, in prison now 32 years.

Why is Joe leading the campaign? No idea.

farm land is currently making in excess of 10 k per acre in this country and rose by 15% last year in value

take it from someone who grew up on a farm , farmers talk poor but have plenty of money , any bit of grass which comes up for sale has them willing to spill blood to get their hands on it

Is this the latest now, Joe is using his Ronan Collins segment to bait certain groups?

I think they were alleging he was being abused by the prisoners as he was less than compos mentis. Ok, so move him to solitary, problem solved.

Farmers like self employed people have to purchase assets and machinery which is offset from their income tax bills

The kerry-based culchie is easy to follow. Its the politician who is engaged in duck-speak. He keeps jumping from topic to topic. Schools, wells, septic tanks, jedward, the meaning of life. Denmark just got a mention.

I haven't been following any of it, y'know why...because as the politician put it himself there a minute ago, "I'm sure this isn't the most gripping subject for listeners..."

    He's damn right it isn't.

Joe: "Are you on a speaker phone, you sound like you're in the middle of Croke Park?"

caller: "No I'm on the border between Carlow and Wexford"

    only on the Lahhvlahhn.
