Why do people think they are excempt from obeying the law simply because they are attending religious services ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,090 ✭✭✭RadioRetro

Good man Damo, pick some random name for the child (i.e. the presenter's name) so as to avoid any possible confusion...

People will start to think that Joe Duffy is off sick with incontinence issues..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,212 ✭✭✭Jaysoose

In fairness damo should be telling this auld wan to shut up and pay her fine. Next caller.

Since when is it the guards job to inform people about where they can park?

If it goes on every year as she says, you'd think she'd have copped on to it by now ?

It seems not every condition can be covered by the LTI SCheme but in fairness, quite a number of illnesses are looked after. For all the criticism it receives the Health Authorities are to be commended for this Scheme. Personally (as a diabetic), I know that no other country provides free medication for my illness, can't speak for any of eth others covered, but there are more than a few.

Here's the HSE blurb and list btw:

If you have certain long-term illnesses or disabilities, you may apply to join the Long Term Illness Scheme and you will be supplied with a Long Term Illness book. This book allows you to get drugs, medicines, and medical and surgical appliances directly related to the treatment of your illness, free of charge. It does not depend on your income or other circumstances
and is separate from the Medical Card Scheme and the GP Visit Card Scheme.

    Acute Leukaemia
    Mental handicap
    Cerebral Palsy
Mental Illness (in a person under 16)
    Cystic Fibrosis
    Multiple Sclerosis
    Diabetes Insipidus
    Muscular Dystrophies
    Diabetes Mellitus
    Parkinsonism
    Epilepsy
    Phenylketonuria
    Haemophilia
    Spina Bifida
    Hydrocephalus
Conditions arising from the use of Thalidomide

Why are these calls even aired?

Does a dead daughter cause bad parking?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,879 ✭✭✭signostic

    easy pickings for the cops...

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,141 ✭✭✭Yakuza

Something is missing...I can't quite put my finger on it...never mind, it's the sighs and "oh Gods".

Ok, she's had a recent loss, sympathies to her, but the police can't know everyone's circumstances and can only act on what they see.

Shouldn't her row be with the operators of the graveyard or the church who were holding the service and failed to provide adequate parking rather than with the guards who were implementing the law.

Guards doing their job, as they should. If she doesn't undestand the rules of the road she should bring her car to Hammond Lane to be crushed.

There has to be more to this story than a simple glitch in the system
