Most women involved in prosititution do not want to be invovled in that so the term prostitutes should not be attached to them. Women are usally forced to work in this for a few reasons so it's not voluntary that they enter into this world so why should socety and you people attach the name prostitute to them when they didn't agree to work in this world and do not want to work in this world but they are force in to it against their will.

It's very funny to see this kind of tripe if you're a guy who actually uses escorts in this country. The whole image that's put forth of this poor, submissive little woman being used and abused to no end by all these big aggressive men. The reality: You go in there and pay 100 EURO for HALF AN HOUR of sex; very, very lame sex at that. And she STILL tries to rip you out of 5 or 10 minutes every time. How is this me exploiting her and not the other way round?? Oh yeah, because of the big bad pimps lurking in the background who are getting all the money. You don't know if that is true, and by all actual unbiased appearances it's not. The prime-time documentary was just as biased as any conspiracy theory documentary out there, so if you take everything in the prime-time documentary as fact, you might as well believe that alien shape-shifters are controlling the world. In other words, you're either really dumb or you are heavily biased on the subject due to your own personal feelings.

Pot, kettle, black. What happen she throw you out after 20 minutes? The tone of that post reinforces the impression I have of men using these women tbh. You did yourself no favours.

Ah I see the problem now... trolltastic.

It seems very clear that no have little to no respect for women. There isn't much difference between your behaviour and the behaviour of cave men however humanity has evolved and there are people that know what it is to be a human being and know what it is to be a man.

That's like saying heroin addicts should not be called heroin addicts.

Well people who take drugs do voluntarily they want to take drugs and enjoy the effects of them and they become addicted; they usually know that most drugs are addictive are aware of the risk attached before they voluntarily take them.

In what way do I have little to no respect for women?

A caveman would not have the decency to pay 100 euro for half an hour of sex with a condom, he would simply over power whichever woman he wanted and have sex with her for as long as he wanted without protection. Big difference there.

Part of being a human being, and especially part of being a man is having sexual urges which need to be fulfilled. You can't expect a man to be indefinitely celibate just because you have issues with casual sex.

"Eh, yeah, hi Garda. I was looking for a prostitute the other day, and I came across this woman who I think might be a little too young. You might look into that".

I'm not being blasé, but do you really think that someone would walk into a Garda station and voluntarily report that they accidentally solicited a child for sex?

Assuming that someone would have the good grace to refuse to have sex with the child, that person will likely just walk away and forget about it, "It's not my problem". Pursuing it will only open a world of hurt for themselves.

In many cases, the way these children are presented the client will probably not jump to the conclusion that they're underage and since the prostitute usually displays a willingness to do the deed, any hesitation the client has about it is removed because the act appears to be mutually consensual.

I think what's most concerning is that a child who is presumably well recorded in the Irish system can be used like this by a parent or guardian without anyone noticing.
To be fair i remember reading here a while back to lads burgaled a guy, found his stash of child porn, went straight to the cops

Just thought I'd pop this in (excerpt from email got from the Children's ombudsman)

"This Office understands from your correspondence that your concerns do not relate to a specific child or young person, but to more general concerns regarding separated children in the care of the state. Therefore, it is not appropriate for our complaints and investigations team to intervene at this point in time. "

Moral of the story: Abuse 1 and get in trouble. Pick a group and you're grand

    That doesn't happen.

Where prostitution islegal and regulated there is still the problem of people trafficked into the sex industry.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8457172.stm

We need to prosecute the users of prostitutes and to have the user's name published in national newspapers.

You appear to have a moral objection toward prostitution. Apologies if that's not the case.

From my perspective, where two consenting adults freely agree to enact a transaction for sex, any state interference (with the exception of health and taxation regulation etc) would seem to me to impinge upon the basic privacy and personal freedoms of those involved.

If you wish to debate the efficacy of the prohibitionist model, we can do that.

Hendrik Wagenaar, associate professor at the Department of Public Administration at Leiden University has undertaken research on prostitution in the Netherlands and the wider EU.

Below, he makes reference to the dearth of data which would allow for a considered medical, academic, sociological and economic appraisal of modes and models of sex for sale across the EU.
Prostitution policy is also plagued by bad numbers. There are lots of bad numbers based on wild estimates. They say there are millions of victims of trafficking in Europe, but no one has ever counted them.

The whole prostitution debate is driven by emotional numbers, as I tend to call them. We counted the number of illegal prostitutes in Rotterdam, and numbers really were not that high. Each one is one too many, do not get me wrong, but the numbers are not that dramatic. We have about 400 cases of trafficking per year in The Netherlands. A lot of people say that this is just the tip of the iceberg, but no one has ever shown the iceberg, or proven that it exists. I have heard things like ‘more money is made in trafficking worldwide, than in the drug trade and arms trade combined.’ That is complete baloney. Really. You don’t make that much money in trafficking. But it is that kind of stupidity that drives the discourse.
