Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' was purchased at auction yesterday by an anonymous buyer over the phone at Sothebys.

Who the fúck has 119.9 mill to be spending on paintings in this day and age?
It's not even the only version...there are FOUR others.

Just because some people in Ireland are broke doesn't mean the rest of Ireland and the World is.

It's a good investment, and will only increase in value over time.

Literally millions of people. Just because you don't know them it doesn't mean they don't exist.

While I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with buying a painting for $119m I will say this: fuck those people.

Apparently there were Occupy protestors outside saying how the 1% get all the good art.

At least you got a proper scream doing that.

It's only the most expensive painting to be sold at auction. In 2006 Jackson Pollock's "No. 5, 1948" sold for $140m.

Seriously, this is what it looks like. I think it looks like a particularly ugly towel in that pic. At least "The Scream" has better colours.

That reminds me of the time I ate laxatives and food dye on a dare.

    Good times.
