Apparently we get sent an email with a link to the results, but I'm not 100% sure.
My god, I'm so nervous now I can't imagine what I'm gonna be like opening them. :pac:

Oh God! Would you know what time? I need specifics so I can panic beforehand! And whether or not I need to be intoxicated to lighten the blow.

    Around 6am :P
Intoxicated sounds like a logical way to approach the results. :o The might not seem as bad if I'm drunk :pac:

6am, right ok ... wow that's early. Drunk it is, atleast then people won't question the tears ... or is that just me? Hah.

I've already accepted I haven't got it anyway, so it'll just be conformation of it! But on a brighter note, I'll be attending Wimbledon two days afterwards so that'll lighten my disapointment :P
What's your back-up? (If things don't go to plan, but I'm sure they will for you!)

Back up? Ehhh, all I have down on my CAO is Medicine .... Not. Obviously, how stupid would that be right? Heh. When's change of mind close again? I've Physiology & Physiotheraphy down, y'know the lot. Not as exciting Well I'd be calling Jack Daniels in for backup thats fo'sure, not as exciting as Djokovic or Federer but meh. But Optimisn is KEY! I think that's the first post on this thread?

1st of July! I can see mine changing alot between then :pac: I put down level 7 courses today just incase :L Optimism isn't my strong point, I finished today and the vice principle asked me how my exams went. When I said they went good but not brilliant, he told me I see the glass half empty....nice parting words of inspiration. :pac:

Should've slapped the bitch. I hate bringer downers. I should really be sleeping, or studying applied maths atleast. Instead i'm on this thread & watching the NBA final. Might aswell take Med off my options now, hah.

I'm praying for a wedge to come up! I work harder sleep deprived. Is that weird? Hah.
I'm pretty sure this conversation is not HPAT relevant anymore.

Hey! Would anyone here who has done 1st. year pharmacy mind letting me know how ye found it? I have it down as a back up and never really thought much about it due to the stress of the leaving cert and all! I've heard that it's quite a tough course. I'm a repeat student so I'll take what I get at this stage, which probably wont be med due to the God Dam hpat! Thanks a million and good luck to everyone on Monday!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭Eurovisionmad

My goodness I started watching Life Savers on BBC1 about a trauma centre, and they deal with people who have been in terrible life threatening accidents and all that, safe to say I've already chosen my specialty before I even get into medicine! :L

    Hi.
May I ask you, how did you find repeating? Do you feel you did a lot better this time round in both LC and HPAT? I am probably repeating but just wondering if it's worth it. I didn't slack at all this year, I just didn't do what it takes on the day. I am so stressed about the decisions!

People always ask me what I want to specialise in, and I can honestly say. I have no idea whatsoever. I just want to do everything atm.

Yeah I'd definitely love to do emergency medicine! Don't think I'd like surgery that much though, I'd prefer the medical side!

Hi im just finished first year pharmacy! As a med wannabe, it wasnt my first choice!I found it boring and i feel that to really cope with the stress/workload of the course you really need to WANT to be a pharmacist!I didnt so I struggled with motivation throughout the year....It has a high failure rate in certain modules...in order to cope with setbacks such as failing a module i think you really need to be determined to be a pharmacist. The hours are long and lots of labs are involved!Im repeating the hpat and will be really really disappointed if i have to return to pharmacy....i personally think i would find the job unfulfiling and boring!Sorry about all the negativity here, im sure certain people probably hold a more positive view on it, but i believe if you truly want to be a doctor, dont just settle on pharmacy.Good luck!

^^ This right here...is exactly what I'm afraid of. Aw sh*te!!!! Still not giving up though no way!!! I admire you for trying even though you're already in a tough course. I wish you the best of luck, hate to see anyone unhappy in a course that they don't want to be in.

Oh God. Managed to keep really busy the last few days and avoided thinking about this but now all I have between now and the results is a long, very boring day at work.

Bleh. Sure we can't change anything now. I'll be back later. :P

That's my first choice! Is there a lot of Chemistry involved because it is my favourite subject and I decided on Pharmacy earlier in the year because I thought it would be very interesting.
The course prepares you to work in Medical, Industrial or Community areas, right?
