Some things I've noticed that take me back :)

The left turn lane from Sarsfield to O'Connell Street for buses.
Speights :) (all boarded up by 1998)
The amount of steps the old buses used to have.
The Henry Cecil, Savoy and Carlton.
Roches Stores toys and garden on Sarsfield street!

I didn't venture in to the city much pre 2000 so do you mind me asking what exactly Speights was? A shopping centre? Am I right in thinking it was where the new big Dunnes is now on Henry Street?

It really is interesting to see how much it has changed and even the changes to the buses themselves. How come they dont have that strip of rubber at the back anymore?

Yeah it was a shopping centre with a car park on the roof.

In the bottom video at 2.39 - really strange looking person on the bus

Not a scumbag or begger to be seen in those clips either.

Somethings never change though, double parking outside HMV/McDonalds. :pac:

Those videos brought me back, Gap shop across from the side entrance to Arthurs quay, The Carl scarpa shop where the meteor store is now beside Brown Thomas. The mini Roches across from the main Roches was that a Baby store? bugggies and the likes? Plus the double decker hand me downs we used to get from the jackeens.

Nope, always a department store. It was called Todds back then though.

That's mental! The Savoy, Spaights, Todds, double decker buses, didnt watch it long enough but can you see Boyds in it? Limerick has changed A LOT in the past 10-12 years!
