Surge are taking over the twisted pepper again for another night of underground music.

We are delighted to finally have the chance to bring Reeko back to Dublin for what is sure to be an intense show in the basement of The Twisted Pepper. Between moving dates and cancelled flights it's been a tall task to finaly tie Juan down for a date. At his last show in Dublin he had to share the stage with Adam X and Cari Lekebusch but the show was extremely well received at ALT. This time around he will be taking control of the closing slot. Judging by his recent sets this will deffo be doing the business so get on down!!!

Jon Hussey is DJing since 1993, kick-starting at the infamous Planet Dub night on Sir John Rogerson's Quay (Columbia Mills / Waterfront), Dublin. Over the years Jon Hussey has promoted and resided at a number of Techno clubs throughout Ireland as well as playing in many Techno havens around Europe including London, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds and Turin.

During this time Jon Hussey has been at the forefront in establishing and tutoring on a variety of DJ Techniques /skill-based courses in Dublin and surrounding counties, incorporating both College level and community based youth projects passing on his knowledge, love and commitment for DJing, Production and of course Techno!
In 1999 Jon Hussey was among the first group from Ireland to qualify for the Red Bull Music Academy which was held in Berlin. Describing it as one of the most compelling and influential experiences in his long career he spent invaluable time with many of the industries top DJs and Producers instilling even further his deep love for electronic music and DJing. Over the past decade he has kept this passion nurtured by being continuously involved in similar projects and innovations and has just recently returned from participating at the pioneering “Plug European Electronic Music Conference” in Berlin. This project was a melting pot of young and innovative artists, producers and intellects of electronic music from nine countries. Jon Hussey along with his colleague Sunil Sharpe mentored a group of young rising Irish DJs and producers participating at this Electronic Music Exchange affording them a unique experience as well as giving them a platform to express their individual talents and to also represent their country.

......Music wise Jon Hussey has played alongside many of his all time favourite artists from Biosphere to Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Loktibrada, Inigo Kennedy, Steve Bicknell, Reeko, Grovskopa, Rumenige, DJ Boss, Bas Mooy, Christian Wunsch and Exium giving a small sense of the techno devout that he is!!!
In 2011 Jon dedicated some time for recording with friend and fellow Techno DJ Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker Tricaustic. They had their first EP “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” released on Komisch records which was well received and commanded support from artists such as Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Peter Van Hoesen, Anthony Shakir, Smear, Kriz, DJ 3000 and many more!!
Release notes from the UK's online electronic music website Boomkat.com captures the essence of the EP by affirming “Tricaustic is the promising new production duo of Dublin DJs, Sunil Sharpe and Jon Hussey. They debut on Komisch with three stoically darkside Techno killers belying many years of dancefloor knowledge and finely honed instincts”.
One recent National radio station (2FM) were quoted in their Late Night Sessions Blog as stating that “Jon Hussey is one of the longest serving true purveyors of Techno in Ireland, running nights in the early days of Dublin's dance scene, when techno to most people meant U96 or 2 Unlimited. Consistently one of the best DJs around, Jon never lets the side down” giving a rare insight into the personality that is DJ Jon Hussey.
