    Hi
Im finished school 1 year and im after finishing a Fas hotel and catering course, Fetec level 5. Im not very fond of that type of job anymore. So to make a long story short I dont know what to do now.

I done the Leaving cert applied, my result was 85%.

    Im also interested in computers.

    Anyone have any advice?

    A distinction - well done.

Have you contacted your local VEC Adult Education officer to see what is available in your area?

If you are interested in computers it might not be any harm to check out the FAS website as they have plenty of computer courses ongoing all the time

Quick reminder tho OP, if you do another Fetac level 5 you will not be eligible for any grants this time around. Still totally worth it though, you should pursue what you think you have an interest in. Hope you find something. :)

Have a wee look into some PLC courses on this - http://www.plccourses.ie/ and see about the options they have to progress into university.

Also, definitley google the VEC. Depending on where you live, there are always plenty of computer courses available. Apply early, because there are waiting lists.

In the meantime, look up the Pitman Training. They have centres where you come in, in your own time and they give you educational tools and information about computer software and programming, and they have tutors there to assist you. It's a bit pricey per course, but if you're looking to get a headstart on the college learning, this might help :)

    and finally...
    www.gotocollege.ie
    www.codubvec.ie
    www.qualifax.ie ...these should help :)

    Yes.
Have a look at this page. The course mentioned might interest you, but if not, the contact number will put you in touch with someone who is well up to speed on all the possibilities in your area.

Thanks guys for them links, Id like to go about the apps/soft ware designing side of things. If id be able to with the leaving cert applied. But it seems to be limited enough in choices. :(
