Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My parish priest isn't so picky. "Any hole's a goal", says he.

Of course it was shaken then, I am not defending it any way at all. However I had strong roots in my Parish, Catholicism is what I believe in. I rarely go to mass, I have my own way of believing in my religion.

A prayer for the bewildered is traditional.

You didn't really explain. Most likely he prayed that he would come to the right decision, no?

    Mass?

    What day is it?

Somebody who still goes to mass/church after all of the scandal is not going to be so disgusted to walk out over this.

I doubt there is a higher being, but if there is, I genuinely hope the catholic church has feck all of a part in it.

Actually, I hope there is no higher being or religious orders, its all a complete bunch of 'preying on the weak' bollox

He might as well say a prayer for Ian Brady to while he's at it to.

  • Registered Users Posts: 505 ✭✭✭timewilltell

He egan 'We pray for Cardinal Sean Brady in the wake of this scandal.. I have ment him a....'

As is your right, Im just questioning the logic in your outrage at the priest praying for Brady, when there's much worse been done.

Didn't Jesus pray for the people who crucified him?
If you don't want to hear illogical nonsense, then don't go to a church in the first place

But praying for someone doesn't necessarily mean you support their actions, no?

What do you believe in that makes you say you believe in Catholicism? I'm not asking you to defend any religious belief here, and if you don't want to go down that road in this thread then just ignore this post. There's another thread on this issue in AH, but it's mostly people saying what they think other people think rather than giving their own opinions as self-identifying Catholics.

I don't know how he said it but from the words "'We pray for Cardinal Sean Brady in the wake of this scandal.. I have ment him a....'" I don't immediately get the vibe that he's validating Cardinal Brady's actions (Or inaction...).

We already have a thread on the Cardinal Brady matter.

Best keep to that one, thanks.
