Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whats your favourite alcoholic beverage? Mine is a pint of stout accompanied by a neat shot of Jameson Irish whiskey.

Not technically alcoholic. Unless you're talking about some cocktail with the same name. :pac:

At the moment? Sierra Nevada Bigfoot IPA. That could change....hic...at any moment.

Pint of Guinness, Smithwicks or Bulmers

Easy to see that I'd struggle overseas with alcohol :P

    depends on the occasion. My fav is JD & red;

but White Wine and/or cocktails would be up near the top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,258 ✭✭✭✭Rabies

Usually a cider or two to start off, followed by vodka & soda or maybe a nice vodka on ice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭grindle

    Right now, Palm Royale.

Innis & Gunn Stout is amaaaaaazing.

Jameson, Bacardi Dark, Captain Morgan's or Southern Comfort with Coke.

    Zubrowka with apple juice.

All have stood the test of time, but my liver shall not.

Bavaria for pre-drinks before going out, Smithwicks in a pub and then a mixture of JD&Coke and Jagerbombs in a club.

Captain Morgan + orange is gorgeous too.

    Orange juice or soda-fizzy-pop?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,597 ✭✭✭Witchie

Club orange is nicest but Fanta is ok with Morgans too.

I got fed up with regularly poisoning myself, so I stopped.

Whiskey (Glenfiddich is lovely) sometimes with apple juice. Sometimes blackcurrant juice.

A good whiskey should always be iced and aired (but not decanted) for a short while before drinking it IMO. Really mellows it and brings out the flavour.

Guinness or Fischer's depending on the mood.

Morgan spice and a drop of 7 up...it's annoying seeing the 7 up wasted so I generally keep ordering more till the 7up bottle is finished....makes sense like

Bulmers cider and lots of ice.

Jazez don't get me started as my mouth is watering here thinking of my favourite, which is Raki Tsikoudia from Crete, man if I got my hands on that now i would spectacularly ingest the whole bottle in the luxurious feeling of bliss. Unfortunately I am drinking dutch gold now so I will have to dream on tonight. :(

Oh, it certainly is, and there are some really interesting drink choices, like grapefruit alcohol (I love grapefruit), but I still miss my bulmers. I have a little flask of jameson with me, but I'm saving it for something special.

Try some plum wine with dinner. Really sweet , but nice.

O'Hara's Red, Newcastle Brown or Bishops Finger. Going for a lager and I'll look for Paulaner or Frankeschanner (spelling?) although always open to trying new things. Rum and ginger for later in the night.

Like many, captain morgans and club orange... amazingly easy to drink large quantities of that concoction! Only when pre-drinking though because I'm not rich.

Remember everyone used to drink lots of southern comfort before captain morgans became popular? At the time it was nice relative to most drinks. Now I'd get sick if I drank that stuff.

Southern Comfort and Coke is nice. Beer-wise, I'd usually drink Heineken.

Old Ale from the wood in front of a roaring fire on a cold night in Surrey ...sure of a bed
and loathe to leave that tick-tocking clock and shining delph and copper pans an'orse brasses on the wall....an' a taxi ready when the night is o'er .

Captain Morgans and coke for an occasional evening drink at home or a byob situation, too expensive when you're out.

Coors light when im trying to fool myself that its okay to drink this week, strangely acquiring a taste for ale.

Bought a litre bottle of wine recently *hangs head in shame*, cheap wine used to be so good and now its just instant headache acid and now I know why people spend money on wine.
