    Took a trip out to Salthill yesterday to the An Tóstal festival. Quite an enjoyable couple of hours. Some pics here.

    Lovely pictures Vulcan, was there for a while myself very small crowd just about a couple of hundred, one gripe I had and a few others was all the commentry was in Irish, now there were a lot of people there who could not understand a word myself included. To be honest its very boring but fair play to the guys who took part.

    The last photo - guy in red has massive arms compared to the normal guy in white.

    Also, anyone know why the hooker is flying the UAE flag?

    Yeah, agree on the Irish thing, not everyone has Irish. You really need to have an interest in the currach circles and the traditions that go along with it. I think the competition was pretty fierce as well. Not everybody's cup of tea, but good to see a variety of things going on in the Galway area.

    As far as I know that was the hooker that went to Dubai for the Volvo Race, there are supposed to be some Dhows from Dubai coming here for the finish of the Volvo race.
